![]() | How often do you re-install your OS? Just curious how often you re-install your OS whether for virus problems, slow performance issues or just to be confident there's no crap going on you don't want going on. I used to do it quite often about every 5-6 months. I got real good at it and had the time to do it. It was actually educational for me too. When I first got into computers, I was much more worried about viruses and all that. Now, I rarely do it. It's probably been a year since the last time. At the moment my computer seems to stall out much more so I am wondering what's going on. I'm thinking about re-installing the OS just to see if it speeds things up a bit and stops the freezes of the keyboard when I am using the net. So, how often do you re-install or have you ever done it? Most people I know that use computers don't ever re-install unless their computer has a virus or unexplainable problem. I may be totally wrong about re-installing the OS. I might just do it too much. ===================== !!!!Damn it I wanted a poll with this and my computer did a wacky again! So what I get is this. This is the reason I want to re-install just to see if it helps. ![]() |

![]() | Less often than I thought for most. It might have just been windows XP days when there were more problems. I'm on 7 and so far things have basically been smooth. Prices for programs have dropped to so all legal versions of everything doesn't hurt. |

![]() | use virtuabox to run an os for web use - then you can blow that os away when ever you want - bookmarks are easy to re-integrate processors now can handle your web stuff easy as via a virtual machine |
