    AIS issues

I live in Chiang Mai, and I use an AIS aircard for internet access.
Every now and then when I connect a message pops up saying something about "more information may be needed" and when I try to open Google a page appears saying
"Error, Cannot connect because Google detects your computer or network is sending automated queries"
I have scanned my computer with lots of anti spyware/malware software like Adaware, Malwarebytes etc and it is clean as.
Anyone else ever had this problem ? Thanks, Mickmac

It's probably the ip your being allocated, Thai's are pretty shit at setting them up, just disconnect and reconnect for a new ip.

When Google says "your computer or network", it means "the ip address or subnet from which you are connecting". Being Thailand it's probably riddled with spammers, botnets, etc., and all you can do is lump it.

I wouldn't worry about it. If it is down to the IP, you can always disconnect and reconnect to try and get a new one.

    Thanks for the replies,

I have disconnected and re-connected several times and it keeps happening. Sometimes it works fine, other times it doesn't. I am starting to get used to using Bing but it is hard to go cold turkey on Google.
Is there a way to change the IP other than disconnecting and re-connecting ?

    I just found this :

To change IP address automatically in Windows 7 follow these steps:

    * "Start" and then go to "Control Panel"
    * Left click on "Network and Internet" and then choose "Network and Sharing Center"
    * On the left side choose "Change adapter settings"
    * Right click on your network card and from the drop-down choose "Properties"
    * Under the "Networking" tab
    * Choose "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" or "Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)" and then click on "Properties"
    * In next window you have option between "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" and "Use the following IP Address"
    * You need almost always to select "Obtain an IP Address Automatically" to change IP address automatically
    * Finally click on "OK" and your IP address should be changed

Was not aware I could do this, learn something every day.

An easier way is just to open a command prompt and type

    IPCONFIG /RELEASE

    and then

    IPCONFIG /RENEW

but disconnecting the AIS gismo and reconnected may have the same effect.

If you want to see what your IP address is, go to

    whatsmyip.org

    Then release and renew.

Then go there again and see if it's changed.

You should leave your IP and DNS address to be automatically set from your provider.
