Even without you browsing the web, there is still a lot of information being passed between the wifi router and your computer. But yes, it's not serious.

There shouldn't be. What sort of things do you expect?

Wireless connectivity hello's. OS, and AV update checks would be regular. If the browser is left on there would be tracking cookie activity. Not large amounts of data but still a steady trickle .

OS updates you should really do yourself at a time that suits you (i.e. a couple of days after they come out), and rarely more than once a month).

AV is miniscule and again, you can update daily and it takes a few minutes.

If you have tracking activity without using your browser then there's something wrong.

And the latest Firefox actually allows you to block tracking when you are browsing.

Your network traffic should be miniscule when you aren't using your connection, and if it isn't, then you need to find out what's using it.

Have a look for "Free Extended Task Manager", which will let you stick up a network usage graph and, when you move the mouse over peaks of traffic, will show you what process is using it.

^Let me inform you, my dear lil young turk, that I prolly know more about puters than you do. I just haven't kept up with the constant bells n whistles advances thru the years. And PC's are toys.

You young 'uns are fuckin board swappers.

When I tell ya there is no comms activity, there is no comms activity.

Now, put that in your bong and smoke it. Then tell me why my errors are running up.

looks like some apps are calling home and your WiFi router is fucked or your desktop WiFi is fucked, or you have electronic interference in your home that fuck the TCP packets

No electronic interference. Can't afford electronic interference. If I send you my acc no. can you send money so I can buy some electronic interference please?

I think it's local, in me laptop. The clocking up of errors is too regular, irrespective of how much comms traffic happens.

^Fok off. I'll just have a rant and blame it on the Thai.

Wait for my 'WTF do my torrents start at 900 KB/s then suddenly drop off to <100 KB/s after 20 mins, is it some fuckin Somchai coconut-picker-cum-techie who can't keep his fingers up his nose?' thread if you want to see bitching.
