What computer games do you play?

Tell us here what you are playing now, or have played in the past, be it PC, XBox, PS3, Arcade, hand held etc, there's even a fair selection of Android games now.

I don't have a console right now so just playing PC games. Just started 'Shogun 2 - Total War'.

Have gone through the latest first person shooters, 'Modern Warfare' and 'Black Ops', still got a few levels to go on 'Battlefield - Bad Company 2'. They're all pretty similar but BlackOps takes the cake for game play and pushing the limits of graphics, AI, etc. and has a very cool storyline.

All of them leave a lot to be desired in the online gaming arena, so usually just play the single player story and go through as you would a (very long) movie.

If I play online, it's usually 'Age of Conan', though it's a bit buggy, it's an awesome concept of a game, though you need to spend too much time grinding a character to max level before anyone will want to play with you. Still good solo play game anyway.

One of my all time favourites is 'Civilization', now up to 'Civilization V' which I'm yet to try.

Also love the old retro quest games like 'Space Quest', 'King's Quest', 'Police Quest' etc that I used to get into as a kid, as well as text games like 'Zork'.

I never did get around to trying 'World of Warcraft'. Anyone played it? Any good?

I'm still playing (since the last gaming thread) Populous II on an Amiga emulator on ubuntu.

FPS bore me to death now. I played some of the earlier ones, Medal of Duty, Call of Honour and so forth. The graphics have improved, the gameplay's still the same.

Although I am partial to a bit of Left For Dead.
Some people think it don't, but it be.

I get into a game for a while, finish it once, then generally drop it.

The only big online multi-player I ever really got into was the original Diablo back in 1999 (until hacks killed it).

I'll play the odd FPS (I finished Battlefield 2 recently) and I'm anticipating that Gears of War 3 will be a great game when it's released later this year, but I really like dungeon crawlers- I'm looking forward to the release of Dungeon Siege 3 in a couple of weeks.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

It's great so far, just gone through the tutorial and getting used to the game. Never played Total War before, 'Shogun' is my first go.

The storylines are sweet and plenty of detail - seems very strategic and pretty complicated to play well.

This is a copy too and cracked to play online.

More or less yes but Black Ops on the PC using keyboard and mouse is awesome gameplay IMO.

I've just started playing Silent Hunter.
It's a subsim and I have done the tutorial OK three times but when I go on a mission the fucking torpedoes go everywhere.
    Anyone else played it ?

I still like the old checkers game. I play "Internet Checkers" every day. Never did like any of the new games as already posted on this thread. In the Philippines I played a lot of "Scrabble".

I've never owned a game console, so I don't really know.

Not sure as I only ever played 'Medal of Honor' on PS2. With the newer games you can map and customize your mouse buttons and keyboard, but yeah, the basic movements and view perspectives have always been the same. I could never get moving forward and strafe going on the PS2 Medal of Honour. Mouse and keyboard make this easy.

    those vintage games are great,

I recommend downloading MAME, those real arcade games never gets old, unlike the newer gamer shit with all the pretty graphics that gets boring very quickly

how much RAM do you have ? if more than 1GB, should be good enough, unless you are badly "optimized" and you have all kind of "ghost" and "trojans" apps running in the background

Prolly an incompetent sub captain problem.

Never play on line games for 2 reasons. First my internet speed is far to slow but more importantly, at my age, extremely humiliating to have my ass kicked by an 8 year old kid.

I have several games I enjoy replaying. Especially the first two as you can configure characters at start to give completely different experience.

Some already mentioned above. All are dated but still good.

Star Wars, Knights of the Old Republic
    Oblivion, The Elder Scrolls IV

    Star Craft
    Diablo II
    Command and Conquer, Tiberian Sun
    Caesar III
    Age of Empires II
    Masters of Orion II
    Shogun, Total War
    Call to Power
