I've gotta go with Harry on this one- the iAnalProbe is in full effect with the Apple aftermarket- hell, I just ordered 2 extra batteries (with a car-charger tossed in) for $10 off eBay for my HTC- I wonder what Apple would charge for that (if the battery on an iPhone could be changed, of course).
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Like I posted above- you can get a decent one for 100 baht shipped from the States (it did take nearly 2 weeks to arrive, though- I ordered it before I got the phone)- I also got a decent case for (the equivalent of) 200 baht, with free shipping (from Hong Kong).

I paid Bt300 on eBay for a nice red hard rubber case for the HD7, and they threw in three screen protectors and a couple of signal boosters with it.

It makes quite the fashion statement.

(Although that statement might be "I am a c*nt").

Of course you can change it. Cost around $79 dollars in the US so I would guess it would be 1,000 to 2,000 baht here

$79 is closer to 3K these days (which means 4K in Thailand as it's always more expensive here)- that's pretty pricey for a phone battery.

Thats $79 dollars for a shop in the US to do it for you, so Thailand it would be next to bugger all is the right answer and Thailand is not more expensive to get phones repaired or worked on.

I though you meant for the battery itself (you didn't make it clear in your post)- you have too much arrogance tied to owning a phone- did you invent it or something?

If you did invent it, you should be shot for making iPhone 4 owners have to go through this procedure to swap out a battery (the performance of which is pretty poor, like with most smart phones- it would be nice to be able to change it quickly if you needed it for work and you were out and about and away from an operating room when the battery started to quit)- you should also be ashamed if you need to pay a shop $79 to do it for you:

Yes being able to slot in a spare fully charged battery would be better but you cant.

When it comes to batteries, that generally means the same thing (on my planet, anyway).

I don't have a problem with people based on their choice of phone, for Christ's sake- I said earlier in the thread I almost bought one but an HTC worked better for me.

I have a problem with people who take pride to their cell phone, or who seem to think that their gadgets are penis extensions (or is there an app for that?)

Why fret about changing batteries on the phone? All the phones I have owned past & present, never had the need to change battery. Never bought a spare. Just charge the phone.

    I fear you are misguided.

Definition of Wanker: Someone who spends 1500 baht on a plastic phone cover.

    And you're a liar.

I really couldnt care what phone someone has. For me the I phone is the better option, when something that I like better comes along I will buy that no matter what the brand.
100% guaranteed you'll be furiously masturbating as the iPhone 5 release date nears.

So if someone says they are going to change their phone's battery, your assumption is that they aren't going to buy a replacement battery (perhaps they're going to stick a potato ship or something in the slot and hope for the best)- conversely, if someone says they are going to buy a new battery, your assumption is that they are going to use the battery as some form of jewelry (perhaps as an earring) rather than actually changing it for the battery that is currently in their device- gotcha.

Well, he does have an HTC, so he's one of the 'cool kids' like me- it's only natural that you would resent us the same way people the world over resent their lords and masters (as all HTC owners rule iPhone owners).

If you use your phone all day on 3G or WiFi the battery might not last until you can charge it for a few hours- it's nice to have a charged spare.

true, but why not have a charging cable in the office, or at home, or in the car. Battery life lasts fairly well especially on an iPhone 4

The iPhone 4 battery life is supposed to be crap (this is what I've read on the net- it's not a dig on the phone itself- it's not very good on my HTC either- it's a standard problem with smart phones)- at any rate, I'm not always in my home/office/car, and I hate using the phone while it's tethered to the charging cable- for 300 baht, I got 2 batteries and an external charger, so I don't have to keep charging the battery through the phone itself.

That doesn't help, but it's only a small piece of the big picture I'm sure.

Don't feel too badly- apparently I'm a wanker and a weirdo (or so I've read, at any rate).

On the contrary I prefer it this way, rather than carrying extra batteries all the time. Granted smartphones consume power in a hurry thanks to bigger screen and power hungry processors.
I have a cable in the office, in the car and at home. Thus never far away from a good ole' healthy charge

The batteries are pretty thin- I can fit one in my phone case- it's certainly convenient if I'm out-and-about and the current battery starts to run low.

Also, your iPhone battery is a real pain to change- it takes a couple seconds on my phone.
