    Firefox 4

I've tried really hard. I have. But it's utter shit, and they're up to Beta 12, and it just swallows resources like a Soi 6 chick swallows jizz.

    Do not touch it.

I wonder if the Mozilla folk even understand the concept of beta.

Really. Rubbish. And I'm a big Firefox fan.

So no improvement over FF 3, great... It is my browser of choice, but don't like having it lockup 2 - 3 times a day, pegging utilization to 100% so you have to kill the process with taskman...

    I quite like Firefox,

Don't know about the Beta versions

I tried Chrome on a few machines, but always seems to crash

IE has gotta be the worse,

I aint tried opera for a while

i installed that beta ,and i kept having programmes not responding
took it off and went back to whatever i had before , then that told me (3.6 i think) was ready so i installed that ,but it seems flawed too ,worse than
the version before , and they moved things about too, like the refresh button etc

I've always found that's down to badly written addons, but I've been running this beta on a clean machine for a long time and it is perfectly capable of sucking on its own.

I typing this on 3.6 and it's all back to normal.

On another thread you'll find a link to "free extender task manager" (google it) and if you hit the process tab when you see your disk thrashing like fuck you can actually see what's doing it.

This beta is a nightmare. It's a shame.

They will iron all the faults out.

Where do you get these Betas from?

I'm seriously considering dumping FF and going with Chrome as it is a piece of crap.

I have also been having issues with Firefox but if you really want to see garbage then start using Chrome.

I'm sick of the thing. It is the Birds Eye browser. Freezes everything. I find even hyperlinks won't open sometimes. WTF??

Sticking with Firefox but I may give the latest IE a whirl. what are they up to now IE 5,000 ?

Really, if someone launches a browser which they promise to upgrade just once a year I think they will be remarkably popular.

Ironically, when I went to find the link for you, I see they are now calling it a release candidate!

Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client

There is one other option, although I only use it on my mobile:

    Opera.

Internet Explorer 9 RC is also available for download, but that's sluggish as well.

I'm giving it a whirl now. Firefox 4
It starts up a lot faster

Gone back to 3.6 because Internet Download Manager isn't compatible with 4
