    This file wont delete

I downloaded a vid from YouTube a few days ago, using Realplayer, and now the file wont delete. The vid was part of a documentary, which I downloaded so I could watch the doc in it's entirety, and because it may stop and start due to slow internet speed. I have done this many times, deleting the vids after I have watched them. But one of the files wont delete.
When I try to delete, I get a notice saying 'Error deleting file or folder'. It continues 'Cannot delete ; access is denied, make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and that the file is not in use'. As far as I know, none of this applies.
I have checked that it is not a read-only file, I have tried renaming it, (as suggested online), and i have tried moving it to a memory stick. (It sends a copy, even though I have clicked Move).
Is it spyware? Any ideas how to get rid of it? Cheers. I'm using XP.

I use unlocker, that usually gets rid of anything

Sometimes have to wait for next boot to get rid of it completely

Boot up in safe mode. Delete the file. Boot into normal mode.

Yes, I firmly believe that it's worth downloading and installing yet another application to clutter up your registry, just to delete a file.

Hang on a minute. You were just saying how it only takes two clicks as if that's something important.

How many clicks does it take to download and install unlocker?

It's using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

I've downloaded unlocker, and as you said, two clicks and the pesky file has gone. Great! Thanks to Thetyim and Mid for your advice. Cheers.

I normally find video files are the problem, because whatever player doesn't release them properly when it exits.

This lock is almost always broken when you shut down.

So Unlocker is next to pointless, and becomes yet another program in Windows, all of which contribute over time to a degradation in performance.

I'm not saying you shouldn't do it, if that's your bag, I'm merely pointing out the drawbacks, and the fact that a locked file doesn't need an extra program to be installed.

And hopmad, you've probably fucked your PC up far more by installing RealPlayer. I'd bin it and use VLC.

yup..or just reboot and find it and delete it. That is all you need another program s overkill.

actually MacOS 7 and MacOS 7.5 were decent OS, better than the Win95 crash model

MacOS6 was very unstable though. You would thought they had fixed the issue of OS stability in 15 years, but not at Apple apparently
