    Free alternatives to Limewire

For over a year now I have been pining after the track - Midlander (There Can Only Be One...) by Bentley Rhythm Ace.

No chance getting it on Limewire and I can find it on sites where I have to pay which I don't mind but I don't want to fill out all those forms.

I know some of my nerdy mates could get it and email it to me, but where do they go?

There are 2 BRA albums available for download on Vuze- not sure which album your song is off.

I should have mentioned that my apartment block does not allow file sharing and downloading and that the internet is usually shite but will try some of these next time I'm somewhere else with my laptop.

By the way it's off the first album, and there's an even better track called 'Spacehopper' which isn't on YouTube.

Unique duo were Bentley Rythm Ace.

In terms of P2P, Soulseek, Soulseek - Slsknet - File sharing software was always better than limewire, imo.

Not that I use either product (Limewire is a malware conduit, and I've never heard of Soulseek), but how so?

Right, most of the P2P programs are full of malware, however I never ran into any issues with SoulSeek. The reason I believe it's better is that it's not as polluted with mislabeled junk that limewire and most of the other P2P programs were. For those seeking porn or anything other than music, you more than likely won't find any on SLSK as it's a music-centric network, however these days you are better off using something else other than these types of P2P programs entirely such as usenet or torrents

I used to use it for finding live dj sets and various dj mixes, the quality on most of the mp3s from it are pretty good, generally 192+.

There is a reason you have not.

That's very deep. But what the f*** is it supposed to mean?

I'm trying Soulseek as we speak.

    *bump*

I was looking for a decent P2P other than torrents sites for just occasional songs as opposed to whole albums. The soulseek file sharing software seems to work well, with no adware / malware attached. Lots of old and obscure songs available also that were never found on Limewire. Sorted.

search for artists or individual tracks here
    http://www2.mrtzcmp3.net/
search for rare albums, bootlegs etc. here
CaptainCrawl - The Music Blog Index
if what you're searching for is online, you'll find it using either of these.
no to mention all the other music you'll run across along the way.

Frostwire has the same layout and everything as Limewire.

just a different logo and colour.

I did get a few viruses off Limewire though, thats why I prefer to locate the albums on Pirate Bay or BT Junkie and just untick the songs I don't want.

Saying that, having just tried, I can't seem to click individual songs now. i don't know if its the version of u torrent or the uploader
