| Steve Jobs is Forbes magazine's CEO of the Decade Love him or hate him he has done a remarkable job since his return to Apple: The financial results have been nothing short of astounding -- for Apple and for Jobs. The company was worth about $5 billion in 2000, just before Jobs unleashed Apple's groundbreaking "digital lifestyle" strategy, understood at the time by few critics. Today, at about $170 billion, Apple is slightly more valuable than Google (GOOG, Fortune 500). The decade of Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple - Nov. 5, 2009 Another article at The Register: Apple under Jobs: from muck to mountaintop

| I think you are confusing sales with marketcap, Sales of Apple are not 170b, that said, he is doing a good job at Apple, I agree, he probably saved the company from being completely irrelevant, or at least delayed the inevitable |

In the Forbes piece they value Apple marketcap at $34 billion I think, the wording of that section is a little vague: Now Apple has $34 billion in cash and marketable securities, surpassing the total market cap of rival Dell (DELL, Fortune 500). The Reg article is clearer: Fast-forward to today, when Apple's stock hit a high of $195, its cash reserves total $34bn, and in its most recent fiscal quarter, it earned $1.67bn on sales of $9.87bn. All mid-Meltdown. It doesn't really matter, I think Unis are going to be using studies of the turn-around at Apple for quite a while. /sorry for calling you out in the thread title, but I haven't seen you wailing on Apple/OS X for a while and I thought you might like a thread to do it in! | |

| Apple does it again! ![]() Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and speaker size. This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them. Steve Jobs, is there anything he can't do!?!?!? |

| ^^^ I worry about your definition of 'style' Here's an interesting one: Apple's cash reserve charted, admired | 9 to 5 Mac Yeah, you're right - the turn around of Apple was 'easy', as you so eloquently put it -- yet DELL seems to be struggling with something so easy? You have everyone and anyone -- which is why you are such an easy target, and also why you have no credibility.
