| Is this excuse the biggest bunch of crap that True has ever come up with? I am not sure if any of you True users seem to have much slower service in the evenings between 5 and 9, but I do. Anyhow, I was having lunch with one of the top engineers from True and I mentioned this problem to him. I asked if they did maintenance at this time or what the problem was. He looks at me with a straight face and tells me that True had a meeting about this last week due to a huge amount of complaints. During the meeting the bosses claimed it was because that was the time Thai women all get on the internet and chat or talk on Skype with their farang boyfriends. Do to all of this activity, the internet speed slows down terribly. He said it was said that if Thai girls would quit taking up with farangs, then the internet would run better. ![]()

| Makes sense... Peak internet usage in the states is the same, 5:00pm - 9:00pm daily... There is a noticeable degradation in performance during these times... Last edited by Muadib : 20-10-2009 at 10:21 PM. |

| According to him, it was an upper level manager that made the statement and claim that hundreds of thousands of Thai women hit the internet during these hours to talk to their honeys. It's always the farangs fault. |

| มังสวิรัติ | A simple timezone check would point out that the best time for these 'good Thai girls' would point to 11pm onwards to be online to talk to their 'hansum men' overseas. As Muadib pointed out the natural throttle of bandwidth in most countries is between 5pm-9pm up to 12am. I often find my True internet is much faster after 12am. |

I am sure they can nip off for 30 mins to chat with their future husband on the phone while friend keeps new and physically present future tee-rak entertained. Then after business present has been done, move onto the internet to tell lovely future 'husband/current sponsor' they kid tueng after hours. Last edited by filch : 20-10-2009 at 11:53 PM. | |

| I don't think it has anything to do with bandwith, it's their damn proxy servers that the government use to control viewing, all your requests go to a central server first and check the URL you are typing to see if it's not illegal, that process is quite huge and tedious for the server, and it will significantly slow down when there are too many requests |
