Ubuntu forums as CMN said, pretty sure you will need "ndiswrapper".

what are you trying to download?

if it's some shitty public torrent site like mininova or thepirate bay and doesn't have many seeds then it's not going to make much difference what speed connection you have.

right now I'm getting a movie from IP torrents at 180KB/s and American Graffiti from demonoid at between 2 and 4 KB/s (has 9 seeds but I'm only connecting to 1 of them.)

I think with the download connection speed you are showing, you'll max out around 40KB/S anyway. I used to on a 512 connection.

Problem is I am on a 1mg connection....so sucks even more now huh !!!

I used to use bushtorrents...and they loaded reasonably ok, still took time, but sometimes up to 90.100kbs. But some stuff downloaded was poor quality and now the site seems to be not working...or at least 3 weeks ago was not for some time.

I can appreciate that demonoid and private torrents tend to be better, but i have had no problem with mini nova or pirate bay, and my connection is slower then NAwty!!!!!

However trying to find Asian films and more obscure or abstract stuff can sometimes be a mission......if anyone wants to invite me to any torrents they would be most welcome

and me most happy!

nawty it could be that your port isnt forwarded and so speeds are inherently slow....google this to find out if this is the case!!!!!!

cant wait to get a faster connection..............above 512
