    Acronis back up.

I have told that it is not possible to back up a mirror image of Acronis, from an existing SSD drive to a new bigger GB SSD hard disk, without installing a new version of my Windows 7 operating system on it first.
    Is this correct please?
And if so would someone be kind enough to detail the various steps.

Perhaps Cloning is a better option.

I've never actually used Acronis so perhaps there is an Acronis user on here who can comment?
