I am told I need to receive a telex. Anyone know where in Bangkok?

I thought they were kidding but apparently not.

Are you sure they don't mean fax? Ask Western Union all over Bangkok.

A telex? Jeeze, they sending from last century?

Western Union *might* be able to help......but doubt you would find a telex machine -well, anywhere really.

There is a forum glitch that does not clear the post box below after you have already posted. See above as this was a double post.

I did some work in the US Consulate, Auckland a number of years back. They had a telex machine in their secure comms room and it was explained to me that it was there as a secure form of communication.
Based on that, I'd guess that you may find a few different embassies have telex machines. Worth a phone call to ask.

Is it Nigeria you are expecting a telex from?
Regarding a shipment of trunks full of cash?

^ What a coincidence. I'm just waiting for an address to send the shipping costs to.

I found out I don't get the telex. It is government to government from Indonesia to the embassy in Bangkok. I get a faxed copy of the document to take with me to confirm my identity or something.

So sorry no Nigerian technology involved just a lot of English not being a first language and the Indo government using obsolete terminology maybe? They call it a telex but maybe it still is or isn't who knows?

It's typically used as a secure government agency to agency message delivery system.

It is still considered a legal document in most places.
