    Cloud Software For Home Use

Does anyone have any experience with this?

It's for a small business's use, though only 3 people at any one time will be accessing information.

Suppose you have a picture of a particularly beautiful young, nubile flower that you want to show your friends on your phone, however that picture is on your computer at home.

    What do you do?

Using cloud software on your home computer, you'll be able to access your home computer from your phone....or tablet....or even another computer....

I just bought a Lenovo Ideapad and it came with a year's free cloud storage (100 Gb). It works well and can be accessed by different machines so is an efficient way of sharing information. I recommend it.

Yes, for cloud storage. However instead of using google or dropbox, he utilizes his own computer's storage.

Butterbutt. Don't you unnerstan Ingrish so good? The oke has twice, now thrice, explained what he wants to do. It's stupid, but it's clear.

    Clearly stupid.

Why bother with the pain in the ass of trying to get it to work. Then one day on the offchance you want to send an old dickpic to a LB you find your pc has fallen asleep. Or someone switched it off.

If you don't want to drop a beers worth of money on cloud storage, get it free ffs.

    You a developer?

The software is free. Dropbox limits you to 2GB free, Google drive to 15GB, however no LB dick pics allowed.

You could always use Filezilla if you wanted to use your own storage on your computer.

I had never head of Tonido before .... Tonido-Run your Own Personal Cloud .. but I've seen other programmes that let you access/share files on other computers, I just can't remember the names of them at the moment.

Edit: Yes, Filezilla is one, but I've seen others. And doesn't Microsoft Windows also have a similar feature?

Not really answering your question but I have a synology NAS and the cloud service works well.

Food for thought if a better physical storage solution is needed in the future.

MEGAsync is 50GB of free space. Despite some stories it is still maintained and has easy client apps for Linux, OSX and Windows.

Everything is encrypted and it is a creation of Kim Dotcom, so if you want to help 'stick it to the man' MEGA is kinda fun.

If you're talking about accessing files from home over the Internet, and you want easy setup, then that's exactly what the MyCloud devices are for.
