Micro SD EVO+ 128GB Memory Card w/ Adapter

    Conclusion

The new Samsung EVO Plus microSDs are very well suited for mainstream consumers looking to meet the ever-growing storage requirements of smartphones, tablets, and other mobile devices that support UHS Speed Class 1 and Class 10 video recording ratings. These tiny devices are also a tough bunch of memory cards, as Samsung upgraded the Evo line even further with increased water, shock, magnet, X-ray and temperature protection. The new Plus line received a substantial boost in storage as well with 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB available capacities, which is double the maximum capacity compared to its predecessor.

As far as performance goes, performance was unsurprisingly impressive for its class. When we put it through our tests, it measured sequential reads and writes of 84.9MB/s and 19.7MB/s respectively, while random activity boasted 79.5MB/s read with 3.9MB/s write. Comparing these results to its predecessor, which posted sequential read and write performance of 44.4MB/s and 19.1MB/s respectively (while random hit 43.9 MB/s read and 32.0MB/s write), the new Samsung Evo Plus microSD cards certainly offer a significant upgrade to the previous EVO line in the important read column.

I hope you're all as excited as I am, and thanks for reading.

only think I hate about those things is the robbing bastards always steal some GB somehow
    eg
    I got a pny usb3 256 GB £54

but , when checked , it has only 232 GB - mugged me for 24 GB !

still it has doubled my laptops capacity as the SSD in it is only 256

This one is twice the speed of your gay red one, so you may well drop some frames when recording ultra HD vids in Boyztown

^ I'm sure it's great, but pretty expensive, 'Arry.

I didn't get the best price, but things here in Korea are not cheap. Nearly $80 delivered - yeah, I know I could've got it for $50 delivered, but there are a lot of fakes of these cards (even bought from Amazon), so I went through a Korean Samsung agent... Actually, part of it was testing them and their service out because they have the tablet I want at a lower price than I can find elsewhere (so I'll kinda get me money back and more...), but I wanna check their service first as they're the other side of Korea and I don't speak Korean.

That one does look good, and there's always something better - I saw some fast Scandisk ones which were pretty pricey. &. no, it's not much faster overall (10%), but I read that they can be a lot slower of random writes of large files for some reason. Also, the one I got has been around a while and has a good rep. I'm sure it's not the best, and I know I paid a bit too much for it, but peace of mind.

I'm gonna whack it in a tablet with Android 6.0, so it'll act as a hard drive which is nearly as fast as an SSD. For my basic applications (goat porn in slow motion), microsoft office (yes, on Android...), internet, music/movies all in a very light and portable package with keyboard, it should be fine.

How much was it in the Samsung shop then?

I priced up the Gear 360 in the Samsung shop in Yeouido at $340 and it's more than that in America. Plus you get the tax back.

    Same price in D'Light.

^ I can't use the Samsung shop as they want a credit card and my (Korean!) credit card doesn't work... It would have been cheaper to walk up to the local Samsung shop and buy one, but I wanted to test out the retailer before I spend 760,000 won buying the tablet. I know I didn't get the best deal on the microSD card, but if it comes ok, isn't fake, arrives next day as advertised then I'll feel safer buying the tablet through them too. Funnily enough, the tablet comes with a free samsung 8GB microSD card - even my 2 year old G3 microSD is 32GB, so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with the 8GB card?

^^ Decent price, but there are a LOT of Chine fakes of these specific Samsung cards, so I don't think I'd buy one from a Thai internet retailer. Even read of people getting fakes when they bought through Amazon!

Actually, the tablet comes with 32GB, and I'll add my Office365 subscription to it, so that'll no doubt take more space than I want. Plus, I will use the new tablet as a research machine, and I have a LOT of videos of exciting stuff like neurology and neuro-psychology, so I want quite a lot of hard disk space (although, I've so much stuff I might put it on that external 2TB drive, mostly - video can fill up space quicker than we realize).

^ S7 is poof, mate. Nobody buys Samsung's second line of products anymore; Samsung focus their development and premium expertise on the Note series. &, I won't be buying one of those either... I am going with the King of Devices...

    Glad you are excited BB..
I recently did a photographic course and the lecturer, said not to use large memory card.
His reason was, that they can fail, then the card is U/S (buggered) therefore , small card, small money lost..
That's ok if you are taking stills, but with a Video camera, one needs a larger card..

    Any opinions?

exactly, who would trust all their data on cards churned out in their millions in chinese factories.

i've had a 64 camera card fail and a 32 usb stick fail in the past year.

split the important stuff up on a few 8's and 16's

Handy for loading up with decent copies of movies and TV for a 16-hour flight to LA (which I'm doing at the weekend).

And also handy for UHD and 360 cameras.

They wouldn't make them if there wasn't a market, would they?

people are generally idiots and will buy anything that the slick advertising and marketing people convince them they need and therefore must buy, whether they need the product or not. just so they can tell their peers.

why else would people buy a 190 mph car for £70,000 or an electronic gizmo that will be outdated within 10 minutes.

so you are flying on the only airline in the world that does not have an entertainment system with 500 films and 1000 hours of tv and music then.

will you be buying a new tablet too for the journey, the latest overpriced one that has a third of a lumen more brightness on its display?

^ blimey, you've been angry with the world for quite a while now, Tax. Here's something to help relieve the stress; take a few tissues and have a 'time-out'.

It's always a potential problem, as are cloud based servers which could (and have) fail making you lose your data. There's no great solution; I just buy the best quality I can and back up the important stuff in a couple of places. What more can one do?

Which are equally likely to fail... More likely if you buy the cheap ones.

I do appreciate the fear of losing the data, but there is no perfect solution. I have my important stuff on cloud, on a micro SD and on the external hard drive, just try to keep these as up to date as possible, but I could still get fuked.
