Thread: Mac Book Air Basics

I'm getting a free one.*

I have not used a Mac since the old Apple IIe days circa 1983. What do I need to know? I know the command button works the same as cntrl button in Microsoft laptops but that's about the extent of my knowledge....

Advice, congratulations and jeers all gratefully appreciated.

It confused the hell out of me when I tried one for a while after a similar amount of times using windows. I'm jumping back to apple soon though so will be interesting how you get on.

My thoughts - it floated past your house in a flood and you grabbed it.

and that green is rather off putting

Now I do think that is very useful. However, and do not take this personally, but who in the world is sad enough to do that, and also, how the hell would you find this out?

Grapher is available on windows though. So hardly one in the face for wintards.

my wife bought one the other week.

she hasnt stopped laughing at me since for trying to use it like a touchscreen.

If you want to look busy while you go off for a coffee or a smoke then open up Terminal drag the lower right corner to make it a bit bigger than the default window size and enter:

Green ca fe:

This version is easier on the CPU:

Easy on the CPU with colour & flashing!

That's exactly what a user interface should do: stay out of your way and be natural and intuitive to use. If Apple have even managed to convince an imbecile like you they must be doing something right.
