Thread: Malware on TD?

Just got a warning from Chrome about possible malware in the Amusing Pictures thread.



I think I was on about page 408-410.

Crap. Wonder if that was me??

I posted a few gifs from :

/www.[at][at][at][at][at][at][at][at][at]/

but not sure where the cdn comes from?

If it is me, let me know and I will go delete - but not of my programs triggered?

That warning just popped up for me, too.

It must be a Chrome thing - nothing on Firefox and IE.

Fair enough, and my apologies. I do note in my defense that other sites say the site is safe and malware free, but better safe than sorry.

if you google pbh2 cdn malware there are a couple of forum posts from february referencing.

I do not like allowing my browser to pull images/scripts/flash from other sites ,this is how many drive by malware attacks are executed - I would rather if someone thought an image was worthwhile posting they would copy it to the TD gallery and link from there

Sounds reasonable, and I will try to do that in future.

Probably a good idea to scan and clean one's system everyday...

As with all free software just make sure you uncheck the boxes that wants to make Ask your search engine or install a certain toolbar etc.

What's going on with my Chrome and TD? I can open the front page but if I continue to New Posts or open a thread a warning pops up, says opening this can harm your computer. Just started this afternoon.

Are you looking in the amusing pictures thread?

If a photo is hotlinked to a site that's on a malware list you'll get the warning.

Edit: I think that's already been covered above.

It comes up as a Chrome banner at the bottom of the screen, then asks if I want to download the page.

Whatever it was, it isn't happening today. Back to normal.

Computer cured itself of AIDS.
