| Phuket | Doberman Pups for Sale- Fully Pedigreed I have one adorable black female doberman left from my current litter due to her prospective owner pulling out at the last minute and having to return to England. Her name is Jurgen and she is from J-litter, an excellent litter boasting an incredible combination in her dame and sire- both fully imported from Europe. I have pictures of Jurgen as well as her parents and registration papers for both parents as well as the pup. K litter is due any day now but have already been sold- L litter is due at the end of this month. I also have pictures of the sire and dame of L Litter- expect a beautiful litter. Please give me a shout if you need any more details or if interested in Jurgen (pictures of her can be sent to anyone interested). I can be contacted on: 0800 512 553 Charles |

How many breeding bitches have you got, Charles? I'd be interested in seeing pics of the conditions they and the pups're kept in. Are the pups fully vaccinated? Health-checked? Socialised? At what age do you take them from the mother? | |

| Phuket | Doberman pups First of all, I am not the main breeder- he is a very good friend of mine and is 'teaching me the ropes' of breeding. He has been sucessfully breeding dobes in Thailand for 24 years. Is it a dog factory? NO! He is a highly respected member of European Doberman clubs and associations and I got to know him through a love for the breed. All his sires and dames are imported from places like Serbia, Holland, Italy and so on. This is a hobby for the man as he runs his own company- but is retired now. All his sires and dames are kept at friends of his as pesonal pets- no cages, no dogs tied down or interbred- he is meticulous about his breeding programme. He has more than 11 stud dogs and about 8 dames- his latest male set him back 13,000 Euros- so he doesn't play around. I am currently looking after a male import of his who will be mine as long as I am in Thailand. I have a female from one of his previous litters who is one of the nicest dobes I have ever seen. Anyway, J litter have all sold out as have K and L before they were even born- M litter due next month. There is no better breeder in Thailand than this guy so any criticism levelled at me is sticks and stones. I do this to find good homes for his dogs and to repay the kindness that he has shown me over the years. Anyone who is serious about the breed can e-mail me directly and I can give more details. | Phuket | November Rain: the pups are given their first set of shots and are checked by a vet before we give them away. We give them away at round 9 weeks- no earlier. They then go for another 2 shots a month later and again a month after that for the rabies shots. The pups are kept in an air-conditioned room- I have no problems providing you with pics and in fact if you would like to go and see our next litter with your own eyes you are more than welcome. How do I put pictures of the pups up here? Plus: the majority of these dogs go to farrang who live here and not Thais who actually don't generally go for dobes- and no they are not 'designer dogs' you are missing the point completely. Most Thais can't cough up the 35K we ask for the dogs so our market is mostly farrang who live here- all of whom we have made really happy with our dogs. Dr Andy it shows your ignorance about dogs: first up a bitch comes on heat only once every 9 months. It is a simple process to seperate her from any potential humpers by putting her in another area of the garden for two weeks but- generally we would then move her to the stud we want her to breed with in another location. None of his dog keepers have more than 2 dogs on their premises. I can't believe that you people can be so sarcastic and cynical. If you had any common sense or actually knew anything about breeding dobermans (go and do a search on the web) you'd see that all the top breeders in Europe operate this way and name their litters by number: A litter are all given names with an A and are the first litter of a new cycle. Our next litter will be M litter- but to get to M has taken us almost 4 years. That is not a factory! And I am not a she! I am prepared to play open books here and have nothing to hide. It took me a year to find this doberman breeder and I have been to every flea-infested corner of Thailand and seen dogs kept in cages, breeders lying about inbreeding (I know the signs of an inbred dog) and Thais who don'y give a damn about dogs. This guy is different! I thought I would at least help people who love the breed by posting here- I did not expect to get a bunch of unjustuified accusations hurled at me. I think I will stick to posting elsewhere we at least people have better things to do than to lambast a person just because they have nothing better to do. Adios and if I ever see one of you on the beach in Ban Chang or Pattaya (look for the biggest brown doberman you have ever seen) I hope my new monster dobe bites your balls off!! haha! |

| Phuket | Nope- read my earlier post. He has let me take care of one of his finest male imports. That in itself is reward enough as I have yet to see a bigger, finer specimen. IDC European champion (puppy class) this dog finished 2nd in his class at the age of 4 months. He is 8 months old now and bigger than most dobermans at 2 years. I have a job and like Phisit- I do this for the love of the breed and nothing else. Do the maths: his stud dogs and female imports cost him a good few thousasnd Euros each time. He makes 35K of a puppy- he may get around 5-8 pups per litter and does about 5 litters a year. That nowhere near even covers his costs- maybe it might at times- but he ahs his own company which his son and daughters run. In his very own words "this hobby of selling dobes has made me so many friends around the world and in Thailand". Watterinja I can say the same. Since I have been promoting his pups I have made a few good friends- I know it sounds lame and all- but sometimes we get together and bring our dogs along. A few weeks ago we had a reunion of 'F' litter- about 5 of us in total (wives in tow) and it was a good day out- as lame as that may seem to you and as odd as this may sound to you: some people do actually do things like this as a hobby and I do truly do have a great love for the breed having grown up with them back home as a kid. Maybe this could be a lesson: I have been scammed tons of times in Thailand but not EVERYTHING is a scam or about money. It's sad as I was really hoping to find some open-minded people here. |

| Phuket | And yes money has changed hands: The 35K I paid for my first dog from him a year ago. It's a lot of money for a dog but worth every penny! Also, although I will take care of Cito (the big brown male import)- he will be used as a stud when he is ober 18 months (the legal age according to the standards). So from time to time I will have to take him to BKK to mate with one of Phisit's dames. It's not always about money mate... |

I think that a breeder charging is alright. I purchase a couple of Rots for a few thousand dollars from Germany. Very good dogs and bred well. So what is the guy doing wrong? Is it wrong for him to charge?
