| Where can I buy a 12v cooler in LoS? Looking for a 12 volt cooler for my car. Something like this. Preferably in the Chonburi, Rayong area. Size might not matter, just to keep some stuff cold on longer trips. ![]() Asking the 'run after guy' in the shops, its eyes goes blank and he/she runs to the colleagues for an animated conference about what in hell is the stupid foreigner asking for.

| I saw some very small 12v coolers in Mai Sai that had come in from China. Just a thought, would it be possible to buy a small 240v freezer and then run it off an inverter. Would need to calculate if your alternator will keep up with it though. |

| I brought one over from the UK five years ago, a Coleman Thermoelectric I bought it from a camping supplies store originally. Works fine. There's one on ebay in the Philippines just now: eBay.ph: Portable COLEMAN Thermoelectric Cooler/Warmer Brand-new (item 360067025456 end time Jul 10, 2008 07:42:02 PHT) Haven't seen quality ones in Thailand and the g/f was totally puzzled when she first saw it.

| I've never seen them available in Thailand. They work even better if you add a couple of cooling packs inside. I've only seen small coolers that hold a few tins or the big styrofoam boxes that you fill with ice. I think would sell very well if they were available in Thailand, as you don't have to deal with all the mess with the melted ice. |

| Thanks for the input guys. We had a great box while in Europe. Worked on 12v, 220v and as heater or cooler. We were supposed to ship it but when the 5.5 cubic meter shipping box became (sort of) overfilled we gave it to a friend. As an afterthought, a stupid decision. Was sure that such a usable thing would be freely available in a warm climate like in LoS. When buying the car I asked for the box (that's an option to the same car model in Europe) they didn't have a clue. Could have thrown away the micro instead, got a free LG micro as a bonus while buying a freezer/fridge today. Shit happens. |

| Found today that True Value in Pattaya sell 12/24V cooler/freezer boxes of the brand Waeco. Size from 18 lit. up to 106 lit. and capable of temperatures down to -18C. Very expensive though, starts at 23.500 b. for the 18 lit. |

| If you want something, True Value will normally have it, but you will pay a lot for it. They have proper screws, tools, and other hardware items that no one else in Thailand carries. I like the store for window shopping as it makes me feel like I am back home - except for the employees eating gin khao on the floor that is.

| There is something in the latest Makro promotion flyer 13th-26th August A very small Minoya branded cooler reduced from 1790 to 1090 baht. The description is in thai and doesn't include the word 12volt so it might not by an in car item and could be an evaporation cooler. |

| Senior Member | Engles are brilliant. Had an old one in the cruiser in Aus for years. You could freeze stuff! Second battery installed though and 3 days was about the max as far as battery was concerned when not motoring. Not cheap but very very effective. They're also practically idiot proof. Good for me .... http://www.engelaustralia.com.au/cgi-bin/international_contacts.cgi
