A bit of extra beer money for my fellow expats A note to the moderator: I couldn't find a 'really relevant' place for this, please feel free to move it somewhere else. Well, where to start? I've been working closely with my friend in Huahin for some considerable time now, trying to champion a half decent e-commerce solution, that may go some way towards 'blurring' the language/culture barrier, and give the Users the opportunity to trade whilst having a bit of fun. Seeing as Sanook and Ebay had a 'bit of a falling out', we decided to go down the auction route. It took ages to finish as it's in Thai too, and does everything ebay does/did...It looks great and is feature packed, but, and it's a big but...We get tonnes of global traffic due to our excellent performance on the search engine results pages, but we're really struggling to motivate our fellow Thai residents into being proactive, and as a result of this the site is struggling for content. We figured that it would be worth persisting with, because of the high visitor count we've got, so in our infinite wisdom, we have set aside some decent budget and are offering an affiliate deal (not the kind where you need a website - don't panic). We are offering 100thb for every new signup generated by our affiliates....So! A bit of extra beer money for our fellow expats (we hope)...As far as "what's the catch?", well I guess it's the fact that our budget won't last forever. More information is available, but it's possible this site will block out the URL, due to it's spam policy and me being a little slow on my posts, so you'll have to google us...Just type in 'thai auction', you'll find us at the top, ![]() Then visit the news article titled "We'll pay you to list auctions" I sincerely hope this is a worthwhile promotion (all you'll need is an internet connection and few mates with something to sell), it's 100% genuine, we will even pay out digitally (in baht). Anyone interested, give me a shout.

| number one in google for Thai auction is iht.com number two is Reuters number two point one is Reuters number four is oryza.com (something about rice) number five is an article from 1999 About a Christies Auction 6 & 7 are a malaysianews.com 8 a site with a picture of a royal in THai Ah! number nine thaibay.com! Nope pretty sure that ain't it. ALL Thai, you said "Thai too" indicating another language... no second language option I could see. Did I miss it? number ten is a forum with a guy selling domains. Not your site is it? The second page? Pretty much the same. Not sure though maybe you're into auctioning rice seems to be the big news on page two. My point was, misrepresentation. Spell out the name of the site, most people here are capable of figuring that out without a link. let them take a look you just might have site worth helping out. your tonnes of "global traffic" sounds a bit of an over-statement. I was gonna leave it at the iht statement but you asked. Hell, I could be wrong, wouldn't rate in the top 100 times I've been wrong. If I PM you are you gonna ask for my email address? Show us the site. Affiliate may be a way to go for a budding site, the google search was a wash, so I don't see a site.

Hi, me again... Google's a funny thing... The first thing it will do, is 'geoposition' you...Meaning, even if you type google.com in your browser, your searches will be relative to your IP. To truly visit google's dot com (global) website, you have to click the link on your noraml google landing page, it's called visit google dot com. Hope that helps

That's really for Thai Nationals, ie: An ID card. For our ferrang mates, a passport will do just fine. If you're interested in getting involved, we'll help you out as much as we can. The bottom line is: We need help and we're willing to pay for it, simple!

No catch fella'. The site's great, except for the fact that nobody can be arsed to post up there. We've got plenty of 'window shoppers', but no 'sellers' to speak of. It's quite a realistic initiative if you think about it in simple terms. Here's what you have to do for your hundred baht. 1/ Register your mate 2/ List 3 items on their behalf - With a minimum of a 100 word description and a couple of nice photos. ..So as you can see, not exactly easy money, but for those who are motivated and can afford to dedicate a little bit of time, there's some cash to be had. Look at it like this: 5 registrants with 3 auctions each will earn you 500THB, but that's 15 new listings for us... I think it's a fair trade...Not tooooo good to be true. Just a quick additional note too: We have built a company around this, it's not just a tin-pot-website-one-hit-wonder, we're vat registered and listed at companies house, we're doing our best to try and take it seriously because we believe there's a real opportunity there. It looks like it's going to take more hands on deck, than we've actually got...Hense the problem Last edited by kiteboardingkid : 10-04-2008 at 05:08 AM.

Not MY website, so to speak...I did the SEO for it, and I'm trying to spread the word a bit, as we're offering a chance for a few of our expat contemporaries to earn a bit of cash, that's all!!!
