Well, actually I have seen this kind of car around Asok a few days ago but I didn't look carefully who made it. I tried to search on internet but I can't get any so I think you guys would know about it.
^
do you want one?
is that why you are asking?
they are orrible.

No, I don't but my friend would want one.
^^
tell her/him to get the lime green one.
they are really nice.

I will be buying one of them if I return to the UK next year.

It is not made in the US but in France.
^although the website they are advertising is an Australian one...

You will defiantly need to modify it with a Brabus badge and an exhaust pipe the size of Phuket to blend in with the Bangkok traffic.
Personally, I wouldnt be seed dead in one.
Its like an enclosed Quad!
If I ever went back to the UK I would consider one ! - Not Pink though( Or lime green !
)
P.S. All theoretical 'cos I ain't goin' back !![]()

Actually, they are great fun to drive. They corner well and stop ok. Whilst the acceleration is not earth shattering it is still respectable. 60-70 MPG. Sory I can't do that in Klm/litre. Good in the towns IMHO but not so good on bad roads and the top speed will leave you with a headache. I 'borrowed' one for the week end once, two up with a small ammount of luggage and you are full to the brim. Right hand drives are a bit rare, but available.

Smart Coupe, far nicer

These puppies are built by a division of Diamler and they're not cheap considering what your getting. I can't imagine them being worth it here given the import taxes for one of these pieces of doodoo.... Just get a Jazz or Yaris and be done with it you won't stand out as much but they are far more utilitarian and cheaper maintenance costs too with plenty of inexpensive parts and service available..
Drive this into a Thai garage for service and they're just going to look at you, laugh and point you down the road..

Silent but deadly.....
I have seen one in Pattaya only last week in Blue, there was alot of problem with the one peice roof system on the car when first produced it used to fly off if the car went over 60 mile an hour but i think sorted that out do a search on smart car on google in thailand you may have some luck in finding a supplier here.
The Smart Car prices start at $25K USD in the US... For that money, I'll spend $3K, get 2 used Hondas and strap one to each foot...
They're kind of cute, in a ugly duckling way...
I would wailt for some new Citro๋n car. The C-Cactus for example 3,4l/100km and a nice design. Only a prototype now but should not be long before it is on the roads.

Smartcar for $XXXXX? Not for me. If I really felt like conserving fuel I could get this for 110,000b!:
It's a 1997 Daihatsu Mira with a 3 cylinder, .85 liter engine. According to this ad it gets 20 km/liter, which is 46mpg US or 52mpg UK.
When I was living in Cyprus I seriously looked at a Dihatsu 3 cylinder Diesel - just like the Mira in style- for my ex - had one on trial for a week and was impressed - fuel consumption was minimal and it was just the job for taking the kids to school and shopping . Wouldnt fancy a long run in it though!
She was going back to UK and the reason I didn't buy it ( duty free!!!) was that they were not available in Uk so no service spares etc etc.
My mate who still lives there bought one and it is still going strong ( extremely tatty bodywork wise cos we are talking about 25 years ago !!! LOL )
