Mazda BT50. Quick sale. Going home.

Mazda BT50 for sale as I am returning home. Car was bought new May 2012 and been magic since then. Even considering taking it back but importing vehicles is not an insignificant process into Australia and as such a sale here is preferable.

Registration is good till May 2014 as is the insurance.

Mileage is good if driven calmly @ about 9 litres/100 but will rise if you hammer about. Nonetheless never been a problem for me but the car does have plenty of toe and fun on the open road. Probably needs a bit more weight in the tray but that is likely to be true for all these utilities.

Have not put many kms on the clock. 13,900 or so. Been regularly serviced to date at the purchasing dealership. There is a reversing camera and USB attachment which have proven handy and a steering lock for good measure.

Not sure what else to say. PM me if you have any questions or want more photos. I am located in Chumphon but can venture towards Phuket or Hua Hin if keen.

Ring or send an SMS to Mon on 0850867544 and ask for Tim. 540000 baht ono.

Quick note on the number plate. Sheer fluke but never ceases to draw attention. I have never been sure if thats a plus but keep getting offer to purchase it. Thailand is weird at times.

I got the same vehicle 4-door version (same colour and all).

It's been great, had it 3 years and done 90,000 clicks, hasn't missed a beat. Only needed to change a battery.

There was a guy in Udon who had a top of the range BT-50 with leather and all that who was returning to Farangland a couple of years ago in a similar position. I think he ended up letting it go for about 350k.

Not sure about the UK, but the problem with Australia is that the gov wants GST @ 10% on the purchase price plus customs duties plus numerous ancillary fees, re road appropiateness, Aus standards, and engineers certificate and then all the registration duties and plates before you even pay the freight charges here.

All that being said, the price point at home for the same car is about 27-$30,000. Stacks up. It is just the process.

Marmite. I take you post on board and thank you for couching the price point so carefully!!

To all I have little idea how to price a vehicle 12 months old so accept that 540,000 might be a bit fat there. I paid 640,000 before extras so now I have put it out there and will leave it to the market.

I have a 12 month old Ford vehicle that i paid 709K for and was just told by them they would give me 460k (709k-35%)as a trade in price.

That would put you at about 420K (640-35%) for trade or 480-520k private sale.

    Something like that.

Only two extras. The reversing camera and display and front "bull" bar. Wouldn't save much against a bull admittedly but an angular, English tefler might still leave the bonnet looking happy!

Cannot believe i still have that cushion though.

Thanks for the input spin. Math sounds reasonably constructed.

you will also need to swap out the HVAC unit for one that blows hot air.

I know they blow a lot of hot air but doing that he will still struggle to have number plates issued as it would still not be roadworthy.

Fondles. Are you saying the car needs a heater to be roadworthy??? All of the BT50's in Australia are exported from here with the same specs excepting the exception you point to. No heater. I could be wrong...

You seem to know your stuff and as i am venturing this way would appreciate any more information re that.

And marmite...yep Aussie chicks can bang on as most chicks can but if you and Fondles are right and it takes an Aussie chick to qualify the 'HVAC' for the car for a roadworthy, then she will have to do from the tray with the other mut!!

Or i sell it for naught here.

Taking spin's advice lest i have not tested this option fully before heading down the other road. Metaphorically and ....not.

Will re price the car at a flat 500000 for teh next couple of weeks but that is not ono.

Simply about getting out at this point. I am not time friendly and soon will be on a plane and it may well be on a boat. Dealer in chumphon ships bulk 'used cars' to Sydney every month. Mostly Toyota's ironically but he is accommodating.

^ Don't forget trade in prices are being distorted downwards by the governments rebate to first time buyers. It's not really a good time to be selling.

Thai spec vehicles do not have a heater, exported OZ spec vehicles have a heater as it is required by law.

Well, I obviously overestimated the market. I would like to thank the many positive contributors here and also those who rang.

In a last ditch effort, given some punitive circumstances i face, I will drop the price to 440.000.

This basically realises me from the finance company and i can move on. Just must happen quickly.

It is a great car and a better buy....now!!!!

Tough luck mate, thought ya owned it. Looks like a nice truck and a great deal. Have you asked the dealer what they'd give you for it? Low price but at least you have your bottom price then.

They'll screw him unless he is trying for a trade-in which doesn't seem to be the case.

If he wants to unload it quickly he's better off heading for a "tent", he'll get the amount on the finance plus a bit, or just sell "down" which is better than a poke in the eye (but not much).

^^^yep but am ready to rock and roll soon. call me as I can meet you half way it it helps. I would actually enjoy the trip!!

An aside to all who have been so positive in following this.

I did go to the dealership and the principle has been totally fantastic in all matters since i have known him. Happy to store the car and has done so four times this year already on return trips to aus.[Mazda chumphon]

He has even organised the freight back to australia for 1200 usd which i was ecstatic about, so the option is very much in play. Obviously there are custom duties and gst and sundries to pay at the other end, and makes my camry at home somewhat redundant however it does open the option.

But chinese/thais' understand business first and khun Chao would only offer 380,000 as a possible trade in price. At that price it is on the high seas and hopefully not turbulent ones as there is only twenty centimeter width left and right of teh car in the container!! No chance of me squeezing out of that window if i loaded it in

You need to add $500.00 aud to that price for gate fee's,customs, feild station & container transport.
The 1200 is just sea freight then when you get to Aussie fvck, now you need money.

Good luck I hope all turns out well wasntme
