I got the same vehicle 4-door version (same colour and all).

It's been great, had it 3 years and done 90,000 clicks, hasn't missed a beat. Only needed to change a battery.

There was a guy in Udon who had a top of the range BT-50 with leather and all that who was returning to Farangland a couple of years ago in a similar position. I think he ended up letting it go for about 350k.

How much would it cost to take that bacvk to the UK

Only two extras. The reversing camera and display and front "bull" bar. Wouldn't save much against a bull admittedly but an angular, English tefler might still leave the bonnet looking happy!

Cannot believe i still have that cushion though.

Not sure about the UK, but the problem with Australia is that the gov wants GST @ 10% on the purchase price plus customs duties plus numerous ancillary fees, re road appropiateness, Aus standards, and engineers certificate and then all the registration duties and plates before you even pay the freight charges here.

All that being said, the price point at home for the same car is about 27-$30,000. Stacks up. It is just the process.

To all I have little idea how to price a vehicle 12 months old so accept that 540,000 might be a bit fat there. I paid 640,000 before extras so now I have put it out there and will leave it to the market.

you will also need to swap out the HVAC unit for one that blows hot air.

Just put an Aussie woman in the cab.

I know they blow a lot of hot air but doing that he will still struggle to have number plates issued as it would still not be roadworthy.

Simply about getting out at this point. I am not time friendly and soon will be on a plane and it may well be on a boat. Dealer in chumphon ships bulk 'used cars' to Sydney every month. Mostly Toyota's ironically but he is accommodating.

^ Don't forget trade in prices are being distorted downwards by the governments rebate to first time buyers. It's not really a good time to be selling.

You seem to know your stuff and as i am venturing this way would appreciate any more information re that.

And marmite...yep Aussie chicks can bang on as most chicks can but if you and Fondles are right and it takes an Aussie chick to qualify the 'HVAC' for the car for a roadworthy, then she will have to do from the tray with the other mut!!

Thai spec vehicles do not have a heater, exported OZ spec vehicles have a heater as it is required by law.

Well, I obviously overestimated the market. I would like to thank the many positive contributors here and also those who rang.

In a last ditch effort, given some punitive circumstances i face, I will drop the price to 440.000.

This basically realises me from the finance company and i can move on. Just must happen quickly.

It is a great car and a better buy....now!!!!

Tough luck mate, thought ya owned it. Looks like a nice truck and a great deal. Have you asked the dealer what they'd give you for it? Low price but at least you have your bottom price then.

They'll screw him unless he is trying for a trade-in which doesn't seem to be the case.

If he wants to unload it quickly he's better off heading for a "tent", he'll get the amount on the finance plus a bit, or just sell "down" which is better than a poke in the eye (but not much).

Still likely to be hear next week? I might be interested but not until next week when I can get down there.

An aside to all who have been so positive in following this.

I did go to the dealership and the principle has been totally fantastic in all matters since i have known him. Happy to store the car and has done so four times this year already on return trips to aus.[Mazda chumphon]

He has even organised the freight back to australia for 1200 usd which i was ecstatic about, so the option is very much in play. Obviously there are custom duties and gst and sundries to pay at the other end, and makes my camry at home somewhat redundant however it does open the option.

But chinese/thais' understand business first and khun Chao would only offer 380,000 as a possible trade in price. At that price it is on the high seas and hopefully not turbulent ones as there is only twenty centimeter width left and right of teh car in the container!! No chance of me squeezing out of that window if i loaded it in

A great option.

You need to add $500.00 aud to that price for gate fee's,customs,feild station & container transport.
The 1200 is just sea freight then when you get to Aussie fvck, now you need money.
