    ^^ I do my best...

It is a good thread, lots of interesting pics and history - well done KiwiNick.

^ don't edit anything (that's for the weak...), just keep the pictures and homoerotic undertones coming.

Amazed that everyone drinks beer in Japan... even kids have their own fake/no alcohol beer..

I just bought a 12 pack of Asahi super dry in NZ... got home to find it's made in China! tastes crap. The Japanese Asahi is one of the best commercial beers on the planet (so they say)...

    Cheers for the contribution, Beerlao..

Nice looking family you have there, bro... (na rak mak mak!)

My brother doesn't believe me that Asahi super dry, is one of the best 'commercial' beers on the planet. (not including craft beers, of course)

Very close would be Beer Lao IMHO... what say you Beerlao? how does Asahi rate?
I didn't like it, at first, in NZ... tried the real thing in Japan, wow! what a difference!!

I thought it was just my imagination, being in Japan on holiday, with the euphoria of the situation, that I imagined it was better...

Nah... fooking oath it's better, the shit we buy here in NZ is bloody Chinese!
I'll upload a pic so you believe me..

We have been trying for a baby for a few years now... my wife can get 9 months paternity leave (with pay) would be a sneaky time to jump over to Japan, sort out our apartment for airbnb... pretty much decided we will buy a 2-3 bedroom, 60-80 m2 apartment...

Instead of buying a couple cheap studio apartments, buy a decent one - that even we can live in, if we want/need to.

She is perfectly suited to hosting tourists (mostly Asian) with her background of over 10 years as a travel (what-cha-ma-call-it?)

We would aim for at least $80 per night... then we/she/I could take them on day trips, to; Itoshima, Saga, etc..
All added coin, of course... I could even book it for teaching at weekends.. would be in a perfect location near the main Hakata station.

It's just all about options.. as long as we buy in the right location, long-term tenant, airbnb businesss, live ourselves, or sell in a couple years after renovation...

    All good scenarios, no?

See who can spot the goodies in my study lol

Nah, not drunk (or stoned bro)...

My fridge is full of Chinese Asahi.. I will take it to work tomorrow to give to my workers.

I know Laos is not the most modern, hi-so, place... I just have fond memories of it.. always met interesting people there... everyone seemed to be in a good mood, happy times... good place to chill out for a couple days..
    yummy baguettes!

Maybe you tried fake beer Lao, like I got stung with fake Asahi 55

Approx cost like THB 38 for 70 cl..damn righteous of you.
Agree that the Bier Lao dark is superior.

Now how much did that pint of Boddingtons or Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter set you back ? (If you could locate it in SE Asia.)

I think the prices overall are comparable to Oz.
I expected it to be more expensive.

You will however save $20.00 per pack if you smoke in Japan.
