    Korean travel advice requested

I am planning a trip to Seoul.

I will have a week at the end to do something else on the way back to Aussie.

Thinking about a trip to Beijing and Shanghai - what is the best airline to get Seoul->Beijing and then Beijing->Shanghai ?

I have done the google searches but nothing is becoming obvious.

Any other suggestions for a side trip on the way back from Seoul (even other parts of Korea)?

I investigated a trip to Pyong Yang but it is $2000 for a 3 day trip leaving from Beijing. Would be interesting but a bit expensive.

Only Air China and Southern China serve both routes.

Can't help you with any sightseeing recommendations as I only go to Korea on business. Then again I do prefer Busan over Seoul - especially during the summer months - lots of eyecandy on and around Haeundae Beach.

I did look at air china and korean air.

AC website said nothing available from Seoul to Beijing any time any day any week. This is 2 months out so surely some mistake.

KA wanted $500 for a one way. This about 1000 km flight. I was thinking $200 might do it.

I'm off to Busan next week for 6/2 rotation until the end of the year.

I'll get back to you, but from what I've researched I'm gonna like it there.

I used to bang a busan bird that worked for me - fake nose, fake tits, drank like a fish and went all night. She was great.

The Korean lady friend I am visiting can knock it back like a sailor. She was off work for several days recently after almost breaking her arm after falling over when drunk and she is is an E.R. doctor herself.

When I lived in korea, I would head down to Busan.
You can get a ticket on a hydro-foil, it takes about 3 hours and then you are in Japan.
They are about 1/2 price when compared to using an airplane to head to Japan.

My advice would be to go to the North rather than the South. But seriously, the DMZ is a day trip from Seoul.

The North would be curiously interesting to visit before the "Wall " comes down...

a day return from Busan to Japan can net a brit a 3 month tourist visa which is cheap and quick.
i found Guangju to be a nice place for night-life, good food and really nice folk.

curious if Koreans are being targeted to visit Udon with this flight between Udon and Korea. Can't imagine what they would come to Udon for. Maybe as a stop over before going into Laos?

Whatever you do, don't fly Shanghai Airlines. Worst airline I've ever been on (including N. American and Middle Eastern ones before their Renaissance).
