Arriving Oct. 3 - What is the weather like?

My wife are taking a little vacation from Pattaya and will be arriving on the 3rd of October. We have seen on the TV, reports of lots of flooding.

Can someone tell me what the weather is like and if we will be able to do anything during the week we are supposed to be there?

    Thanks in advance...

Wet, in October it rains most every day. Bringing a wife to Thailand is like bringing your car, yes you can do it but it's much easier to grab a rental while you are here.

I'd suggest making Plan 1, plan 2, and plan 3. And be prepared to switch quickly.

I had ten days in CM recently. I saw rain precisely once, coming back from Nimman to Thae Pae, and by the time we got round the corner to the gate, it had stopped.

Otherwise, nary a drizzle to be seen. Saw more rain in Bkk. Mind you, I'm not what you call an early riser.

If the OP can wait a bit - I get there on the 2nd, so I can answer a little bit more accurately then. Suspect a few heavy showers and it'll be quite warm. Maybe.

anyway, even if it does rain, it tends to just pour down for an hour or so then the sun comes out and, ten minutes later, you wouldn't know it had rained

Thanks to all of you with instructive, pertinent comments. My wife had seen on the television reports of flooding and was concerned that if we took a trip to Chang Mai (from our home in Pattaya) it would be too messy to do anything. I was simply trying to get the opinion of "locals" in Chang Mai what they thought.
As for English being my "second language", I am sorry I didn't put it in simple enough terms for you to understand... Perhaps I should have elucidated more so you would have more reference information to process in order to make an informed comment.... Instead or your inane, nonsensical prater...
    ENGLISH GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU??????????

You name says it all................ You just need to add ignorant to it.

As the weather in Pattaya is VASTLY different than the weather in Chang Mai, I am trying to get an informed answer from the people who live THERE (in Chang Mai - in case you can't figure it out) so I can plan accordingly....
