    Bad Ass Brush

There is a bush that grows in Northern Thailand that is just mean. It has thorns and I've had my arms ripped open by it a few times cruising off piste. It's taking over at our place and is growing a meter a month. Anyone know the best way to eradicate this beast? Going to ask the locals too but they'll probably recommend fire.

No, not this one. We have the edible one too and I eat it as well as the wife. No thorns on the edible version. It leaves an interesting after taste that is hard to describe.

it is mimosa, many types, but yeah, this type is a curse. as nedwalk tells, you gotta slash it, around about the end of winter,? so the new shoots can be sprayed with glyphosate, "round up" and just keep on top of it. Once it is completley out of control, it is a menace.

Funny you should ask that as I touched the leaves just yesterday to see if they would. It looks so close to the ground cover leaves that do close. The leaves on the brush do not close at all.

zipperz.... Thanks for that info. No mo' mimosa for me! I've already sharpened up my shovel and it's round up time.....

I've been trapped by that stuff riding my dirt bike in the hills. It grabs you so hard it all but ripped me off the bike. It is a menace alright.
