    Strange Viruses

Wondering if anyone has experienced this. Yesterday I started feeling dizzy, with an almost fainting feeling. I've had this before with flus after being sick for a few days. Then last night, the body aches and pains started, and I was hobbling this morning. The odd thing is.... NO congestion anywhere. Just sore body, fever, and dizziness. Anyone else experiencing this? I would think it was Dengue if the fever was higher and if I was vomiting. I'll head to the doc tomorrow if it's not better, but I've never had anything like this before.

Could well be dengue as the symptoms are the same as when I had it.

Same description as what i was going through. I had the H1N1 but it's no different to any other flu.

There is another strain of the bird flu getting round at the moment, we have 35 staff at work off with it.

    Thanks all for the info.

Day 3 now, and last night I had the sweats and jaw and ankle pain that really got my attention. We've had six houses in our Moo Bann with Dengue so that is likely what it is. I am in good physical shape, just had a complete physical two months ago, so the symptoms are milder for me than most are experiencing with Dengue. The dizziness is gone which I am happy about. Also.... If anyone else is dealing with Dengue, if you have any purple bruises that show up on your body or if you have any bleeding of the gums, go see a doctor immediately. The hemorrhagic versions of Dengue should be treated immediately.

The version I had started in the UK two days before flying out to LOS and lasted a month, dizzy when up at the top of the steps decorating looking up and turning head suddenly, had a mild cold before it started, wife has it now must be a bug.
went on its own with no help from doctors.

Day 6. Yesterday was the worst with a headache and pain behind the eyes. My eyelids were very sensitive to the touch. Fatigue is the key word! Mild Dengue usually lasts for 5-7 days and I am ready to be done.

I have had the same symptoms twice in the last 3 months once over night and once for 2 days.

No cough no runny nose no congestion no sore ears. Just achey joints and high fever. Neurofen helped a lot with the symtoms.

Hey, I want a beer too! Went to the hospital yesterday as the wife found a rash on my legs. Platelets are low, got Dengue, but not low enough for admission. I guess it is common to have Dengue for 5-7 days and then have it really knock you down. Fatigue level has been very high but am feeling a bit better now.

I'd buy you more than one beer but you would only end up out of your tree.

I think you have Dengue, any flu would have your lungs reacting

Women can bleed profusely vaginally. You'll need extra iron and I recommend zinc, about 150 mg every 4 hours w food for 3 -4 doses kills off most virus

Beware, Asian Doctors may not be aware Caucasians can have different symptoms like intermittent fever.

or just drop in; also Ram hospital is good and not too over-priced

or Suan Dok, although you may have to wait longer, it is cheaper

Ripley... It was indeed Dengue. Wife took me to the doc and I had to go back for several days as they watched my platelet count start to climb back up. First week of Dengue was just foreplay, as it really knocked me down the second week. I was lucky in that I didn't having any bleeding, and I am in great physical shape. I am recovering now so Dr. Andy can go have his beer! Now to get my mojo back......
