Supersport and World Cup and Vietnamese TV

Has Supersport officially died now? All of my Multichoice channels have finally disappeared here in the sandpit, although some of them still register a signal, just no broadcast.

Thank heavens it was a dodgy feed anyway, I'd be livid if I was paying full whack. So now it's the waiting game to see if the Thais decide to get an English commentary or not (my bet? Not).

While I'm at it, the guv'nor of my favourite watering hole, what used to be The Bunny Club/Thirsty Beaver has put together a calendar with the World Cup, F1 and other dodgy North American sports, so even if you don't go there at least you can see what's on and when.

    Oy Vay, what a mench.

And finally, when looking for alternatives, did anyone consider Vietnamese TV (VTV)? They are broadcasting the World Cup in HD, and their satellite looks suspiciously like it might work just fine in Chiang Mai.

If anyone can read Vietnamese, you might be able to find out if they've got English commentary on that:

Be interesting to see if they show anything else that disappeared with the DSTV loss.

    Yep, looks that way.

Personally I could care less about the soccer/football (it's already on about 50,000,000 channels anyways) but with SuperSports has gone the only decent and regular rugby coverage that I had. Still yet to find an alternative for that.

I know that ageing one, but there seems to be doubt that True have paid for match commentary (i.e. English).

For Rugby, Ant, my mate in Angeles City said they are getting an Aussie card which replaces most of their versions of egg chasing.

Really great shame about the demise (at least here, not in Africa) of Multichoice. Really good entertainment channels with quality movies and others such as BBC Entertainment/Lifestyle, as well as Sky News.

Really can't see True not having the English language option for the WC, but guess we'll have to wait until a week on Saturday to find out!

Thanks for the tip. And funny you should say that as I was just talking with someone else about the very same thing earlier.
