Ignoring the banter about Andy wanting to be called Bob or anything else or the emergence of grammar nazis ;
Pim can often make very strong points, in Citylife and elsewhere; but it is easy to see her bias. Best example was her interview with the former mayor.
There was a reason why she made the comment on Thaivisa the way she did but only she knows what that reason was. Posters rightly got suspicious.
Drandy has at least told us what he believes actually happened. TV is getting a little odd in its censorship policies.

Now we've got that out of the way... St. Germain anyone? Has it gone t*ts up?
Drcandy put me on to this - thanks. I haven't been there meself yet but sounds promising
'Beer buffet daily at Lavender Sky--drink all the draft beer you want from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. everyday for only 149 baht.'
::: LAVENDER LANNA HOTEL :::
I seem to remember Sizzlers (or some similar company) doing that before, but they hadn't counted on the fact that the western population were hell bent on making the most of it.Originally Posted by teddy
I can't see it lasting long unless the draught 'beer' in question is Chang.
Can't really see the kind of western customer they're expecting to be fat-necking gallons of Chang. A pina colada, perhaps....Welcome to the Lavender Lanna Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand. We are a specialty boutique gay hotel
yes, true, I thought it would suit you, esp with your cute ass
did you read the dress code?
I assume that new venue is merely the old Simons cabaret crowd, as Simons has vanished
as for good pubs, The Queen Victoria is now a little more salubrious with newish owners and fair food, for Brits
I have reported your post
did I say cute, or fat arse? the latter is more you, on good authorityOriginally Posted by teddy
as for Pina Coladas, they can be good if made with fresh ingredients. although I haven't been offered one in years

Anyway it's one of the worst place in Chiang Mai. Nothing interesting there and expensive even if they have only ugly waitresses.
A bar is generally only as good as the company you keep. When I went there with Frisky and Little Chuchok we had a lovely time.Originally Posted by Wallalai

I agree, but the waitresses are really frightening, and you have to wait at least 10 min to get a beer even if there is 4 or more people working behind the counter and at least 2 sitting on the bar stools in the front, a shame. And in the daytime, never been there in the evening.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Where are these? On the superhighway?
Also - has anyone tried the bars in Prasertland (behind Nimmanheimin)?
There's a lot of night places in Chiangmailand too. Any recommendations?
JJ markets is now what I know this string of bars to be. Good fun but tough crowd, need at least a little Thai and a bit of 'style' to join in with a table of hotties
Not sure where you mean behind Nimmen, but just seen that massive new joint has opened on canal road close to tawang daeng. There's quite a few decent Thai falang friendly restauraunt / bars along that area of canal road.
Where is Chiangmailand?
