Irishman tries to sell 1Kg of drugs to Police

A 23-year-old Irishman was arrested on Monday night in Chiang Mai as he attempted to sell 1Kg of marijuana to officers from the Crime Suppression Division.

Kieran Barry had been dealing dope online and locally before coming to the attention of local law enforcement agencies who set up a sting operation that seen the Irishman in cuffs and looking at a lengthy stretch behind bars.

Barry was arrested outside the Chiang Mai Night Plaza Boutique Hotel by Crime Suppression Division Commander Lt Gen Akkaradet Pimolsri and Lt Col Kwanphichai Manochulemsup as he attempted to sell the drugs to officers for 200,000 baht.

Following his arrest Barry confessed to buying and selling drugs in the northern city and taking online orders that were then posted to buyers.

He was charged with various drug offences and remanded pending further investigation.

That's about right, there's 35 ounces in a kg. most people I used to know would buy a Henry(eighth), not a whole ounce. An eighth was about 15 pounds back then and that's years ago.

    That math works out at 15pounds x 8 x 35 = 4,200 GBP or 226,800 baht

Googling, In the UK nowadays, you are looking at around 6-7000 quid for a kg of weed bro

Entrapment is similar to when somebody aks you to sell them drugs, and you know that they like drugs, so you buy some of the drugs from your mate. Then you sell those drugs from your mate to the bloke that aksed you if you can sell 'im some drugs.
It's not the same as if you is standing on a bicycle on a street corner and you has a bag full of drugs what you wants to sell to passers by, so you say
"Hey mister, what drugs you want to buy?" and he says "you is nicked".

    Er, yes mate.

Alai wa? as in that's what the Thai coppers say when you declare 'This is entrapment!' Before they break their ass laughing and connect your gonnads to a car battery.

    Hopefully.

The UK is relatively unique in that they don't reassess sentences of prison transfers from overseas. So UK prisoners doing ridiculously long sentences in places like Thailand don't appeal for transfer, gut wait for a pardon.

Which usually comes in 8-12 years from the King.

But of course, what is guaranteed about that in 8 years time from now, it is illegal to even speculate.
