Car rental recommendations in Chiang Mai?

A friend is heading to Chiang Mai in a few days and wants to rent a car, and he asked for advice but I don't know the area- are there any agencies you'd recomend (probably for a month at least- something in the Honda City range would be fine) that have decent rates and vehicles?

Any info would be much appreciated.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I always use "Pop Car and Bike Rentals"

They've got outlets all over the city, are fairly priced (cheap as you can get) and most importantly have always been honest and straight forward.

Excellent rental agency. I've used them many times. No credit card required. Meet you at the airport, do all the paperwork then and there. Also have an office in Chiang Rai. Good people, not into screwing you. Can also drop off at the airport or office. Chiang Mai office near north wall. Nice shop.

North Wheels is 50% more expensive than Neu Speed - for the same car. Forget them, even with good service the price is not justifiable.
I don't know Pop's car prices, but his motorbike prices are ok. He tends to maintain vehicles well.

    Yes the Rental car issue.

Recently I have been booking my cars through a company called " vipcars.com".

    My 3rd rental coming up.

This sight scourers all the rentals available and comes up with the best price of the day.

Pay a deposit on line and pay the remainder at pick up.

Just booked my pick up for a 9 day trip in February starting Chiangmai.

8400 baht all in, Full insurance, theft and the lot. Great deal.

    Check them out.
