There is an article in this months City Life magazine about graffiti in CM .

I sent them a letter :

Hi City life .
I am quite surprised in the current issue that you are running a complimentary feature on the illegal activity of vandalism . Graffiti isnt art, it is unwanted vandalism which makes CM look like a inner city slum , it isnt appreciated by the huge majority of people and it is an aspect of Western culture that Thailand can do without and its also an eyesore . Vandals have no right to deface other peoples walls and City life shouldnt condone this illegal activity .

The City Fathers probably won't get the message until your city starts looking like this:

They should do what they do back home, when they catch the vandals , send them out with a paint brush and paint and make them repaint the walls in the original colour

^good idea, except they very rarely catch them.

They have a Facebook page, it wouldnt be difficult to track them down .

Do like they did to that American brat in Singapore a few years back who was caught spray-painting Mercs. Cane the fuckers...

Just got a reply from one of them......

"Did you not just read the last three paragraphs of this article? Graffiti is art. Soper graduated with a degree in fine art and is being socially responsible through her work and trying to make a difference to the youth of her country. After all, the youth are the future and not people like yourself living in the past. "

Well, we both had a differing opinion on the subject and we were exchanging views , that is how people talk to each other, rather than just saying "your a cont" .
It is easier to just say "i tink your a cont" , but it doesnt really get ones point of view across .

well i read the article and their points of view read like the poorly thought out self justification so common amongst young rebels without a cause.

however artistic these pictures may be, they are in fact defacement of public property.

a good horsewhipping is called for.
