October 11, 2013
A quake measuring 4.1 magnitude on Richter scale hit Chiang Mai's Phrao district early Friday, causing widespread panic among local villagers.
It was the biggest tremor ever in the district.
"The shake was so powerful that we felt like a big truck crashed into our building," Phra Khru Preechapiwat said. He is the abbot of Wat Thung Luang and the chair of Phrao District Rescue Centre.
Local residents were seen grouping together to talk about the latest quake.
