Anyone going to the inaugural Chiang Mai Golf Classic?

I was playing golf today and my caddie gave me a pass for all four days of the inaugural Chiang Mai Golf Classic which is starting at the Alpine Golf Resort tomorrow.

    Is anyone else going?

I maybe able to get access to another pass for a day or two if anyone is interested.

Well, the Chiang Mai Golf Classic has finished now, as ltnt mentioned in another thread, Prayad MARKSAENG blew a five shot lead going into the last day and ended up coming third on 16 under. Aussie Scott HEND had a blinder on the last day getting an 8 under 64 to win by three strokes. South African Bryce EASTON came second on 17 under.

You weren't supposed to take pictures at the course but I snuck a few snaps (from a distance).
The guy in the pink shirt is American Jason KNUTZON who had a good round on the second day to be close to the leader half way through the tournament. He ended up finishing equal 20th with five other players.
The guy in the white shirt in the middle of the last pic is Ernie ELS on the first green. He finished equal 14th with a score of 12 under.

It was a bit difficult to see the balls, as you say Dillinger.

No, I only went for the first three days. Had another commitment to attend to on Sunday, so gave my pass away at the pub on Saturday night.

It's a very beautiful course, lot's of water hazards on the back 9. But it would be best to play it when it's not the burning off season. It would look a whole lot better with blue skies instead of grey.
I'm saving up my pennies to play there. 4000 baht green fees. That's a lot of cardboard recycling to pay for that.

No "ex-pat, or Local" rates then Pale X? In that case they can keep their course.

As I've said before I'm boycotting Thai golf due to the outrageous green fees. This isn't 5 star golf by any stretch of the imagination. Cheaper and higher quality in California, Florida, Arizona and Texas.

The green fees vary a lot in the Chiang Mai region. There are 14 golf courses around here apparently and the price varies from about 300 baht for 9 holes up to 4000 for the top courses. Of course the quality of the maintenance and landscaping varies accordingly.

Also, during the off season, there are price discounts, so I'm told.
