having had a true vision sattelite dish installed recently, (not at my cost, or choice) i am having a lot of dropouts, some one told me the smoke plays havoc with the sattellite, is any body else having true vision problems????

i should add, it is run through a wirelss modem not under my control, running at 54.0 Mdps, is this fast enough???

^ they set the db at a crap level - if you ask a friendly true engineer to change it then everything will work fine. I had this problem at 2 different locations, when it rained I got no picture; both times the engineer eventually changed a s/w setting, but you need the engineering code...

No picture problems, but many billing problems, ie; double billed, cut off for no payment when it was paid, ect. Thailand needs another provider. Truevision sucks.

smoke doesn't normally cause havoc to satellite reception, however small disk misalignments, rain, tree leaves, snow and seriously cloudy weather can

Is it a hooky one? You don't need Internet if you have a proper box and card. If you're running a hooky one over the Internet, and their card sharing servers are overloaded, they can't keep pumping the codes quick enough, hence the dropping out.
