    Planning to visit Lopburi

I am planning on coming back to Thailand at the end of October for a quick 2 week visit, a friend of mine (a nice Thai lady) wants to introduce me to a friend of hers, they both live in Saraburi but to ease any complications I am planning on going to Lopburi and we can all meet there, can anyone recommend a fairly decent hotel or apartment block that is not to expensive and also guest freindly (in case I get lucky)

When I say not too expensive I mean about 450 - 600 baht a night which in the more far out places seems to get good value for money if Korat and Phimai are anything to go by,

My friend is in a difficult situation, she lives with the father of their child but by all accounts he is a right b*****d to her and knocks her around a bit, but he gives her the lifestyle that the majority of thai women aspire to, nice house, car schooling for the daughter etc, so I don't want to rock the boat for her hence the Lopburi slant on the visit, she tells me its only about 40 minutes away from Saraburi.

I also understand that there is quite a big expat community there, so good for days if I'm on my own for a day or so.

The links to hotels trains buses etc is brilliant, thanks, but current prices on hotels would be nice, any members got any financial interests in hotels that could advise or offer accomodation

    Thanks in advance

Goes without saying, but do be careful.

Anyhow, Lopburi's a fun town if you can avoid the monkeys. I can't remember where I stayed but it was city center, reasonably priced (five years ago). Best of luck!

Good call..Saraburi is numero uno shat hole of Thailand, nay, the World.

Fine massage parlour in Lopburi..dump the birds in the market then go for a two hour grease down courtesy of this fine little lass, who'll make sure you leave the place feeling cleansed of any, erm..unwanted water..

Thanks for the replies so far every one, I still have just under 4 months to plan this little trip so I will investigate a bit deeper on my rest days in the upcoming weeks.

DD, the link is great and I had already had a quick shuffti at the Loburi links so I will be making good use of that,

somtamslap, I was hoping for a picture but I'm sure I'll find it, what's the name of the place please getting rid of dirty water is always a priority

Thanks all, anymore recommendations gratefully received.

Come on England, oh sorry I forgot we were out

A bit of advice from the mods or more experienced members may be called for here, I could expand on the reason for my visit (the lady inviting me) or just to post a part of the conversation we had on Yahoo last night about the friend she wants to introduce me to, I can't believe that these girls (women) can impart such info to a guy ?? I dunno, what do you think ? new thread or stick it here, it's only short.
