    Nakhon Nayok stay

Hi. I am spending a weekend in Nakhon Nayok at the end of March because of a golfing invitation and I was wondering how to plan around that visit. I have read about the park adjacent and stuff on the internet sites dealing with tourism Nakhon but I would like to know if the town itself caters for a bloke who like to have a beer and play pool with the lovelies? If it is a friendly enough place I will stay on for a few more days and play more golf there.

The Blue Diamond resort? seems a good place to bed down.

Any comments from local farangs or previous visitors.

OK, looks like a nil response should be posting a warning here. Perhaps NN is not the place to be?? Or maybe I should be looking further North to Korat? Any suggestions on how to kill 3 - 4 days in that area. Golf would have to be included!

Nakhon Nayok is the home of of Khao Yai national park. I spent a couple of nights there back in 2007. There's a brief account of my visit with a few photos at: Nice Trip? A Postcard From Thailand

PB Winery, close to the national park, has some of the best food I've had in Thailand. Well worth the visit. The wine's pretty decent (for Thailand), too.

You definitely need your own transport in the area. Also, it gets pretty cold at night at this time of year, so thermal underwear is the order of the day.

Sorry, can't help about the golf and debauchery.

Thanks Oswulf, nice yarn and pics. I certainly am looking forward to visiting the area, specially the park. I am guessing that I can hire a vehicle at Nakhon Nayok or at least get soem sort of tour through it. I may even try out the winery for soemthing different. I'll be there end of March and hope it's not cold then. Thanks again fro the insight.

Nakhon Nayok is not the home of Khao Yai NP.....Pak Chong is that.

There is a dam nearby NN and they open it on weekends...the floodgates...and you can go rafting down the river.....kinda slow and sedate, but stop at all the beer shops along the way and get shit face on the liver.....

Thanks Nawty, That's the sort of thing I was hoping to hear. I could find myself doing that. Pity it's only weekends though. That must mean it is awful quiet Mon-Fri. Maybe I'll just chill out for a few days and do nuthin!
