What do you buy in 7

I thought this might be an interesting thread as I am sure 7-Eleven has an important part in all our lives whilst living n Thailand and generally in the fabric society.

What I want to know though is what do you generally use it for or do you try and avoid it like the plague.

I generally use it for breaking big notes and buying beer if no small shops are nearby.

But I may be overlooking some hidden gems, so what do you guys buy normally????

My closest thai friends are running a thai shop 300m from home where I can find most of what I need daily.
The closest 7Eleven in 3-4 km from home near the market. I mostly go there to buy sliced bread or some cigarettes when I need to break some big note. I go there for the ATM as well.

Actually the prawn wan-ton is pretty good. (freezer section)

I buy whole-meal bread, Xtra xylotol chewing gum, cheese slices, and milk almost every day.

Freezer section red curry pork is also very edible.

Cheese flavour Hula-Hoops. Seaweed. Yesterday some nail clippers as mine disappeared. Super-glue.

Bin bags. Phone cards. Paying electricity and water bills.

    Cat food late at night.

    Butter. Anti-perspirant. Mosquito coils.

La laideur a ceci de supérieur à la beauté, c'est qu'elle dure." Serge Gainsbourg

    Ugliness lasts, beauty is fleeting.

Beauty breeds impassion, selfishness, shallowness. Luckily for me I discovered this early in life. Now I am beautiful and compassionate. Although immodest.

The closest 7/11 to me is about 4K from my house. But, it's the closest place to buy Farmhouse Whole Wheat Bread and fresh milk. So, if we run out of either of those I ride my bicycle there. It's also the closest place to pay the electric bill.

Ms. B stops there on the way home from work now and then to get some sort of drink (ice coffee?) and maybe a snack. Last night she bought an awful microwave meal (khao pat gung) for her daughter. Never again.

    Buying at 7-11

I think of seven-11 as a place with some consistancy. I know that I can get a hotdog and mustard if I am hungry. It's not as good as the Costco $1.50 in the USA, but it will generally take care of my hunger for the moment.

I almost always get my phone cards there, along with ice when I need it. I like the fact that they keep the store clean, have good staff, and they are generally friendly.
Thai vendors and many stores, could take a lesson from the way that the 7-11 stores operate. When we have an emergency, such as no beer, I know that I can get some that is nice and cold when I need it.

Smokes, those Nescafe things & top-up cards.

With a bitch in tow you can add a few Spy Coolers & some big bags of crisps onto that.
