    Kanchanaburi hotel recommendations

Its a long story but basicly i was offered a job in oz last month then they said it has been put on hold for a month so i decided to fuck of to sri lanka with the wife and kiddies for a couple of weeks. Got a good price for 4 of us to bkk and a good price to colombo from BKK no sooner had i booked the fucker and an email arrived telling me the plan had changed again and i was now required in perth on the 11th for a medical. Cancelled the sri lanka bit and now were of on a jolly to bangers/ hua hin/ Kanchanaburi. Her indoors has been banging on about staying on a floating hotel which sounds like fun but seems to be a ways out of kanchanaburi town. So any recommendations for this ? Only got 2 nights in kan then need to be back in bangers to fook of to the antipodes at sparrows fart on the 10th

Im disapointed about the sri lanka thing as i was planning on eating all kinds of curried seafood goodies. Crab in particular. Washed down with the Award Winners. and its a damn shame that the kids and wife wont get to experience abject poverty. I was hoping to snap em em all out of this hiso lifestyle that ive been funding all these yewrs. Bah. Fook it . next time.

Rainy season now BLD. Thunderstorms and fork lightning. Fuck that for a laugh. Waterfalls will be nice though but that Kanchanaburi place is full of fokkin Aussies
I'd stay in Bangkok or head down to Pattaya, pack the wife and kids off to Cartoon Network and get on it like Chitty

If you can talk the missus around, most of the hotels on the riverside in town stretch onto the river.

There is sod all to do at night if you're staying out in the sticks.

In town there are some good farang food options (Bell's pizza, Schluk), and a few decent bars (one more bar and triple 8 bar which is Ozzie owned).

The bridge is just up the road where you can have butchers and a few cold ones in the afternoon at the restaurant on the river under the bridge.

For cheap hotels with small pool and brekkie , I would go for Nobel Nights or Porn Thip (they are next to each other. If stepping up in price, then Natee would be a good call.

If you want peace and quiet, go for the above post or any 4/5 star hotel on the list on Agoda.

Sorry can't help with the staying on a raft thing. Not my cup of tea.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

Kaeng Krachan might be an alternative for river splashing fun. As it's in Petchaburi it's not far from Bangkok.

Pretty sure i could of lived out all my colonial fantasies in sri lanka for a fracction of the price somchai wants to charge me. I had already dusted of me pith helmet and booked a couple of uber dudes to pick me up from the airport in a Sedan chair.

3 nights in bangkok but 1of those nights i need to remain sober as i have to attend a 1 day course. Trains booked to hua hin but not to kanchanaburi. Still time to convince her of the benefits of taking the hua hin pattaya ferry and the gastronomic and cultural activities to be had there. Ive taken her there before so i dont like my chances. Anyway what sort of coonty takes his missus to pattaya eh? Yeah nah. That aint right.
