    thank you taxexile.
i would like to bring her over to stay, but she say she felt more comfortable giving birth at a place she know.

but we did not really felt the trouble until the hospital appointments, grocery buying, house visiting etc start kicking in.

in d past, we can just ride a bike and go for supper late @ night. now we cant , cos her tummy is too big and i would not want to risk her falling off the bike.

please let me know if you have any contacts or advice.

@mozzbie -> thanks! i will call tomorrow and see if they can arrange a pick up @ lopburi instead.

i am really not confident in driving from bangkok to lopburi alone even with the help of GPS.

    thank you!

it was justified sarcasm. plain and simple.

the man, and i use the term guardedly, is about to become a father, the parent of a child, yet is unable to ascertain whether cars are for rent in the major town in which he lives.

nor is he able, in this age of in-car navigation, detailed downloadable maps and regular old fashioned but still eminently practical paper maps) to work out how to travel the 150 kms between two major cities.

whats wrong with people these days, why cant they figure out even the simplest of things.

anyway, in the spirit of christmas i apologise for any feelings hurt, offence caused and mental trauma suffered as a result of my sarcasm. i further hope that you manage to find a solution to your problem and that your wife gives birth to a lovely baby.

if you wish to complain further, please write to taxexile, penthouse suite, taxexile towers, marking your envelope " basket case".

    Hi taxexile,

    Thanks for the wellwishing.
I am not living there , and my wife does not have much contacts over there and
she is telling me "no" , they do not have car rental companies over there.

before that, we are always on bike.

So i decided to try my luck on the internet and seek advices before i affirm what she said is real.

In the age of car, yes navigation system and map is easy. But compare to real-life condition and actual driving , what if i miss a turn, what if i overpass a junction, how do i go back ? does nagivation system really help you on such scenario ?

maybe it is simple for you. i am just not confident enough to drive up there alone but i will have to try if i cant find any other better solutions.

    ---------------

if you meant to help, please do.
if you meant to speak without understanding the reasons behind, well pls dont bother to reply in my thread.

    thanks.

When using a GPS device it will re-route you if you miss a turn. You do not appear to be a confident navigator but I am sure that if you are careful and give yourself enough day light hours you will get to where you need to go.
Best of luck on your trip and best wishes for the wife and baby.

    hi taxexile,

thanks for the link. yeap will try calling
actually i manage to find a company (thairentacar) that is willing to pickup and dropoff at lopburi with an additional cost of 2290 baht.

i am finding that pricing to be a steep though. appreciate the link though, will try calling tomorrow.
