2012 budget set at 2.25 trillion baht

The Bureau of the Budget will on Tuesday propose the 2.25 trillion baht budget for 2012 fiscal year to the cabinet meeting for consideration, a source at the bureau said on Sunday.

The 2012 budget was up 8.7 per cent, or 180 billion baht, from this fiscal year, with a budget deficit of 350 billion baht or 3 per cent of the gross domestic product, according to the source.

Of the total planned budget, 1.82 trillion will be for regular expenses, an increase of 9.6 per cent from this fiscal year.

A total of 382.5 billion baht will be a budget for investment, up 10.7 per cent and 47.19 billion baht for debt repayment.
