PM: House to complete 2011 Budget Bill in late Sept

BANGKOK, 16 May 2010 (NNT) - The House of Representatives is expected to pass the draft budget bill framework for the fiscal year 2011 in late September, according to the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva stated that the government would submit the 2011 Budget Bill to the upcoming the new parliamentary session for deliberation in late May and immediately promulgate the Bill on 1 October 2010. He said the bill would play a major role in bolstering the country's economy and implementing several state projects.

He elaborated that the Strong Thai economic stimulus scheme would be contained into the 2011-2012 fiscal year after the government decided to rescind the bill authorizing the Finance Ministry to raise 400 billion THB in foreign loans.

Last month, the cabinet resolved to endorse the draft budget bill framework for the 2011 fiscal year with the expenditure of 2.07 trillion THB, increasing by 21.8% or 370 billion THB in value from 2010.
