    US dollar outlook?

What do the teakdoor soothsayers think about the US dollar outlook?
I have a new venture which will pay receipts in USD and am a bit wary as have never had to deal with the greenback before.

difficult to say, with the EURO in the shit, the GBP in the shit, the USD is starting to look good, above all with a recovery on the way in the US faster than Europe

you can always hedge your USD with a basket of currency,

the eurozone will take the hard medicine and sort thier shit out

the seppos are looking more precarious by the month , and there is a large amount of shit still coming down the chute for them.
for all the talk of their economy looking good , it is not showing in the sales tax reciepts or the wages withholding tax numbers.

but until that is really public - people will still run to the USD as a percieved safe haven

So many different opinions, in the short and medium term.

I suppose it depends on your timeline (how long you'll be keeping the dollars) and even then it'll be difficult.

You could spread it around in to 3 currencies or so. I dunno.

Unfortunately there is no choice, my American pension is denominated in dollars, so I only hope they retain some value for the next 20-30 years I expect to live.

They're still printing dollars as fast as the presses will run trying to paper their way out of the recession/depression, and the rest of the World is no longer naive enough to think the US Government any longer has integrity or long-term vision, so it's just a matter of time before it's worth the same as Nazi Marc. But then attitudes such as that are why I live in Thailand.

Nazis actually stabilized the German Mark, reined in inflation to sane levels and had growth based on increasing industrial production (not financial speculation). The weak currency you're referring to is the Papier mark during the Weimar republic hyperinflation, 1919-1923, long before Nazis came to power.

Ignorance is bliss. Calls your other conclusions into question as well.

Are you just anxious to insult someone? I am aware that the Nazis did great things for Germany in their inception, unfortunately for them, we all know how their rein ended. As for the Nazi Reichsmark, it was replaced by the Deutschmark after the war at a rate of 10 for 1.

If the dollar does collapse and is replaced by the Amero (or whatever) when the US cannot hide its bankrupt status any longer, 10 dollars for 1 Amero would be as good a guess as any. Let's go back to the subject of the dollars future, it's more interesting.

Long term, the US has built up a pile of debt. Expect them let inflation take care of the debt and devalue the money.

Oh and BTW- I am expecting that when china calls in the USA debt ( trillions?) that the economy will collapse upon itself and the future from there is well known. The "amero" will take over, USA/Mexico will be so bad that we might as well live in Canada. That is why I am moving to Thailand in 3 years. Don't want to be here when it goes BOOM.

    I am a static whore.

I am sure the Chinese would like to dump the dollar now but they've got so much of it that before they could shify even a tint percentage of it it would cause such a crash that their remaining massive reserves would lose too much value for tehm to bear. They are stuck with their dollar holdings.
They are now trying to gradually shift to a basket of other currencies and to use CIC to make alternative investments but all this fearmongering about China holding you yanks by the balls is nonsense

Really ? care to expound upon this ?

America’s debt is growing, and a greater amount is in less reliable hands, China, Saudia Arabia....so, its funny that our debt is being held ( btw- currently 321 BILLION is held by China) by countries that are not even democracies.

What happens when countries stop lending to us ? I will tell you what..collapse. Its not so much that they will want go collect the debt, its that they will stop lending to us.

    nobodys dumping anything anywhere
    hresus frucking kristo

why the fukkest should the chinesee or any other try to dump anything.
This is not a shitting contest.
The world trading is so complex and interveind? that any financial domestic disturbanse in european countries, usa, aseat, sovjet, dubai!! are sending chockwaves through the global financial markets.
Every nation is trying to cooperate and handle issues in a matter that benefits trade and growth among nations, and have during the last 1,5 year showed a willingness to try to work together and solve problems. This will continue.
If it will be a success or not, I dont know, but the intentions are there and nations are acting accordingly.

there are off course free loaders like lazy fucking greeks, low performense, retirement age of 52!! corrupte, have been feed by north european money for decades. Simular is Spain etc , the PIIgs countries. But hopefully they will have to start to smoke cock for a living to make ends meet.
Personally I support that EC should engage war upon the fckg greecs and just finish them off once,,en for all.
Yeah I know its a bit harch, yeah yeah, innocent greece homoes getting hurt bla bla , but I think we all can agree that in the long run this will benefit us all.
Even the greecks, they just need to get to terms with the logic of it. Let the idea mature so to speak.
We must act in an adult manner and put childish emotions aside, let our brain lead our actions.
AS we always do here in Pattis
