Just noticed the Baht had slipped to 35.15 to the $.
Is this the start of a further decline in strength?

It has been steadily declining for some time now. I receive a daily newsletter from Bloomberg as part of my job, and just this morning, one of the headline were "Thailand's baht dropped to a 20-month low at 35.23 as Aisan stocks slid on signs the global economic slump is deepening"
It also mentions that the baht has slid 9 percent in the last 6 months, and may reach 36.5 by the end of the year.
For those of us paid in US$, this is welcome news.
Any error in tact, fact or spelling is purely due to transmissional errors...
Not for those of us buying US dollars. Must get off to Super Rich again soon.
I've been watching closely the Asian currencies against the dollar for about the last 8 months. It has been a steady slip. Nothing ever dramatic, but steady.
That is the selling rates.
I think we should agree to quote the TT rates to avoid confusion.
I notice that the thai banks have increased their spread to nearly 5% now
The Baht has slipped against Sterling this week so it must be in trouble.
My mate bought GBPs at 55 last week, the next day they went to 50, now moving up again. Don't understand how the pound is so much more hill and valley than the buck.
£ was 51+ yesterday, its back under 51 now.
TT rate 51.6
I dont use TT so I go by the buying rates for atm withdrawls.
BKK bank rates
I watch it almost every day,.like a lot of us (I am sure). I am waiting for 38 baht to the US dollar before I dump/transfer money over again. Hope I don’t have to wait more than a year.
Here is a site to help you with history of the baht and the bank I use and what it is paying (history also).

Not against the GBP, we are 25% down on last year!!
Incoming tt dollar to baht is 35.13 this morning. Dollar salaried folks are laughing.Originally Posted by Thetyim

That is too near the truth to be even remotely funny () 'cos I dont like bloody noodles !!!
On a UK GBP pension I had better start getting the taste for them !
^Perhaps they might undertake some of those tasks again, provided the others won't be at it. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
The carps are watching.
it's actually strengthening against the majority of other currencies, including the EURO
it's only the USD getting very strong, it will be the equivalent of 44 to THB before the THB was getting stronger
Baht will weaken to at least 40 by next June
You can write it down
^Agreed. Recall when oil was $140 a Bbl and many TD wizards were suggesting we buy cellar tanks to hoard the black gold?
sombitch is over 35 right now and I hope it does go to 40 as this inflation is hurting us now fact I liked the 45 = $1
Write this down - if it hits 40 baht to the dollar, I will host a party at Timbas!
Sorry, but only Mrs. Chi and I are invited
well you sure are a big hearted fella, you big bastard .
I Timbas was anywhere but BKK I would take you up on that.
You bugger Chitown!Originally Posted by chitown
