The Board of Investment (BoI) and Thai Airways International have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide special privileges for investors during Thailand Investment Year 2008-2009.

The BoI will nominate investors to receive the Gold Royal Orchid Plus membership and BoI-promoted companies to receive special corporate fares from THAI. The national carrier also agreed to provide special airfares for particular investment roadshow missions.

It has opened a fast-track express lane for foreign investors to facilitate their speedy entry through immigration formalities at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

WTF would they be interested in a free air miles membership when their wallets are likely stuffed full of membership cards from other carriers?

Dangling a small carrot above the sea of xenophobic business regulations to bring in a little more cash. Arseholes.

I am hoping they bring back Taksin's Privilege Card or whatever it was called.
