| Thailand : Life insurance popular in 3 southern border provinces Life insurance popular in 3 southern border provinces 16 August 2008 Amidst daily violence, residents in the three southern border provinces are becoming more interested in purchasing life insurance. Insurance policies offered include savings account protection and investments with high returns and interest rates. Deputy Director of the Sales Department of the Muang Thai Life Assurance, Mr. Buntham Chanthong (บุญธรรม จันทร์ทอง), said during the early phase of the southern insurgency, southern customers gradually terminated their insurance policies due to high interest rates from the then-sluggish economy. After the economic situation improved, Mr. Buntham said customers possessed greater purchasing power and are interested in purchasing insurance policies with lower amounts of capital investment. He said moreover new customers have also emerged, mostly working people. Mr. Buntham further stated that residents in areas affected by the southern insurgency have begun viewing the situation as a part of their daily life and are therefore more positive about purchasing life insurance. He assumed that people are planning well for their family’s future, adding that his company offers competitive insurance policies in response to the current situations. thainews.prd.go.th be interesting to know what the premium is for that address .......... .
