NONTHABURI, 22nd March 2018 (NNT) – Thailand Auto Part & Accessories Expo 2018 (TAPA 2018) will take place next month, showcasing new products and hosting business negotiations, with auto parts export estimate this year expected to grow at six percent.

The Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Supapat Ongsangkoon, announced in a press conference that the expo will be held on April 5th to 8th, 2018, at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) in Bang Na, Bangkok.

The event will serve as a platform for Thai manufacturers to showcase their strength to international buyers and businesspersons. Some 500 companies and 10,000 businesspersons will come together on this occasion.

Mr. Supapat said the auto parts industry in 2018 is seeing an optimistic projection from better performing economies in many countries, causing the raise of auto parts demands.

Thailand is currently the 12th biggest auto manufacturer of the world, with the export figure of auto parts in January at 1.45 billion US dollars. Total exports in 2017 worth 19.84 billion US dollars, a 15.5 percent growth year-on-year, with the US, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and China being the biggest buyers respectively.

Auto parts export projection for 2018 is expected to grow by six percent, generating 15.39 billion US dollars in trade value. The country has increased the estimate for auto production by 0.56 percent at two million vehicles this year, 1.1 million of which to be exported to foreign markets.
