BANGKOK, 23rd November 2017 (NNT) - The Ministry of Commerce will organize a workshop inviting experts from the world’s leading e-commerce companies to share their knowledge of e-commerce trends with Thai operators.

The workshop, Alibaba Global Course features talks by executives of Alibaba Group's Taobao University, and Lazada Thailand on the future of the e-commerce market, human resource development for the digital era, and tips for business start-ups. Target participants are small and medium enterprises (SME). Alibaba also undertakes similar activities in other countries.

Commerce Minister Apiradi Tantraporn commented today that the workshop was a major step in strengthening the grassroots economy, saying aggro-businesses were being urged to get involved in e-commerce in order to expand income opportunities for agriculturists. Mrs. Apiradi disclosed that representatives of Lazada would travel to Songkhla province with cabinet members to educate southern business operators on the topic of e-commerce.

The Commerce Minister said today Lazada would also launch e-commerce workshops in other cities and was considering a plan to invest in the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECI). She added Lazada’s investment in the EECI project would enable more business start-ups to enter e-commerce.
