This was built in our neighbourhood.
Just came across the image just now ...
yeah.. you see a lot tin sheds like that David - springing up all over the place. Did you also notice that huge wooden house behind it?
lol... impressive. That looks even bigger than mine. and I think it is finished too, unlike mine! I better schedule in a zone 4 immediately.
Clearly that's a full-wood structure so that will have cost a small fortune, I think...
Nice looking though.
Front pedestrian gate progress
He left the access gates until last but now is finally getting round to them.
This is how it was the last time we looked...
Then he started to build it up. There will be double doors
...and now, he has the 'bridge' over the doorway
[QUOTE=Norton;3920090]Wot are the red blobs covering? [/QUOTE
Looks like he was building it up to get the right dimensions without having to cut the grey block.
When does the work commence on the drawbridge?
Nev is right, Norton... red arrows they are.
but... lol I'm not sure what he was pointing to... unless its to do with the light locations?
There is nothing else going up there (i was joking about the gun turrets....)
We will decide the gates when I get back there next, all being well... on the 20th April.
Pedestrian gate update 2
Moving ever forward to conclusion.... hers the update on the front and back gates
Back gate
Inside
Outside
This will be a single gate access point.
We will grow something around it the give it some presence...
Front gate
Taking shape at the road side
Rare top view of the front access with the road to the right (off frame)...
...and the view from inside
This will be a double gate access point
TD, I have to admit, I have the small pedestrian gate too. However, it's rarely used, just as a backup when the wide gate remote mechanism would not work when coming from outside. Then the small door is opened by a padlock and the wide gate can be managed from inside manually while disengaging the motorized gear - when a power voltage or other failure.
Or when did not have the remote controller, then touching the push-button hidden on a secret place inside.
Otherwise, nobody would bother to go even with a motorcycle thru the small door. When not equipped by the remote opener, then rather horns to be let in thru the wide gate by somebody from inside.
Thanks Norton... yes - I would like to keep as much of the garden as... well, garden.
The whole point of moving to where we built is to escape the concrete jungle.
There will be parking for 2 vehicles in the car port when built plus the turning area if and when we have visitors..
There is plenty of parking on the verge outside, too, especially round the back.
For us, Klondyke, only invited guests will be arriving and parking inside and provision will be there for that. For others, although most welcome, they will have to enter via the pedestrian gate as that will be the only one opened.
Also, unlike yours, we have steps up into the garden and house so cannot just drive any bike inside.
We too will have electric main gate opening on remote for the cars, and the main pedestrian gate will also have discrete CCTV and an electric remote release, which will be activated depending on who it is that's arrived.
^TD, I just wanted to point out that nobody will come on foot, even if your neighbour 100 m away.
So, beside that, you will get a traffic of maid(s), gardeners, occasional workers (there is always something to be mended), all of them will want to drive in together with their gear...
(just 2 cents of my experience...)
TD: as I have mentioned before we use the pedestrian door as emergency, with a padlock.
This is quite important to have one door with an old-fashion key for the case when power is out (even with DC backup) or anything goes wrong and nobody is inside. Otherwise, your only access is over the fence...
Then main pedestrian gate will be a key entry (old fashioned turn key) but you can automate that by making the bar that the lock, locks behind move sideways too. so then you have the best of both worlds!
If people turn up unannounced they will soon learn to park elsewhere when the main gate does no open. we can take them or leave them - its up to them!!
Plan ahead or park outside and walk in. simple really.
The big clean-up
Although he still has stuff to do, we are in the home straight and its all but finished.
Part of the contract called for K.Pot to clean up after himself. no...not just clear up the broken bricks, etc. remove all the building debris, building material containers, pallets, the scaffolding of course, and general site rubbish imported by his team.
Also...bye-bye to the ChonBuri Hilton, which is closing its doors to guests and relocating to new premises.
Just need that gate to be painted, and the door fitted
Those upper columns (unpainted will disappear once Zone 3 is built.
Clear of scaffolding...
We are waiting for the 3000L water tank to go on that base
View from the lane - will break up the 'slab' once those fruit bushes are planted
Back gate needs a door too...
We will have to construct a driveway once we know where everything is going.
Sala finished and 'out of bounds' until the owners turen up
Folding windows, prepped, glazed, hung, checked and now locked in place
...and those bananas from the opening 'good luck' ceremony? Thriving!!
Scaffold all gone, and now the AC pipework painted to match the walls
so looking forward to the 20th April when I will be there
