    Statement from Thaksin Shinawatra

    Statement of Thaksin Shinawatra

Statement of Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra, May 19, 2010

Today, the government ordered the use of force to disperse the peaceful demonstrators at Rajprasong intersection and accusing me as the one who rejected the negotiation.

I would like to make the statement as follows:

    1. I have never objected any negotiation efforts. On the other hand, I support and urge all parties to enter negotiations to find peaceful way to solve the political conflict and to bring about national reconciliation.

    2. UDD and their supporters demand democracy and justice. They did not demand anything for me or on my behalf. I am not UDD leader. Any negotiation to end the demonstration or conflict must be made between the government and UDD leaders. I have no authority to negotiate on behalf of the UDD.

    3. Government falsely accused the UDD and protesters of being terrorists and that I am the mastermind of the terrorists. I denied that accusation entirely. I never approve nor agree to any use of violence. I believe in peace. I love my country as much as any member of this government. I believe in peaceful and non-violent means to end conflict and reject any use of force. If there is any act of terrorism, it is the duty of this government to find the wrongdoer and prosecute them in the court of law.

I demand the government to stop all defamation and false accusation. The government should be mindful that these protesters are Thai citizens. Please do not harm them. Please order the cease fire and begin the negotiation with the UDD leaders so there will be no more loss of life.

Maybe in Gucci getting some new shoes or...............actually I can't be bothered to be sarcastic.
The bloke needs some handcuffs and a trip to the Hague.

So if you are a lawfully elected PM and get dethroned by a military coup, the one who should go to The Hague is you and not the coup's stagers ?

^ Sorry him and Khun Mark should be handcuffed together at the Hague.
    Short memory wefearourdespot?
I'm not gonna go through all the ins and outs of why Taksin was disposed, but I think the army had a good enough reason to stage a coup and let the square face dude run off with his billions of tax free baht that he aquired from the sale of a certain ShinCorp company to the Singaporeans.
The Money he made off that would have fed, clothed, housed, educated and provided a few farmers with a million cattle to the Issan crew that he loves so much.
This is an argument that we both cannot win so why not just call it a truce, shake hands and agree to disagree?
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

The man knows he's in trouble and in his own inimitable and pathetic way is trying to distance himself from his failed coup attempt which of course is what the UDD protests were all about but the extent of his financial support and organisation will be difficult to conceal in the aftermath.
I suspect that his current favoured boltholes of the UAE and Montenegro may not be available to him for much longer and that shrinking world of his is just going to get smaller and smaller. Tax evasion and corruption are the least of his worries now that treason is likely to be on the agenda.

Think Thaskin may be trying to salvage a way back into Thailand. I fear that may be to late as the present government now has the upper hand!

I feel for the red shirts. They are the ones that have laid their lifes on the line to show the world that there is injustice here. A duely elected government deposed by the military (for what ever reason that they deem to give, sure a "elected government" by a big majority should still be in power until next elections!)

The red shirts wanted a new election! so that the populice can decide (mmmm think its called democracy)

Thaskin, was clever in what he did, he showed that he cared for the poor people and did things for them. Ok me "may" have benefited from his term in office. You gonna tell me that the rest that have occupied that position have not!!!!

So whats wrong with have some elections? are certain people worried that they will not be elected in? Why do they wish to remain in power and not let the people decide. mmmmmmmmm Maybe because they will benefit from holding these offices. Now is that different to Thaskin?

    I await the defamours!

Typical craftily worded Thaki statement -- he does not promote terrorism, he loves his country, UDD want democracy and did not demand anything from me -- that's right, Thaksin, you just gave money and likely the tactical support to them.

A BBC interviewer asked the Thai Ambassador to the US if he thought Thaksin was behind the trouble. He replied "If you asked 100 Thai people that question, 200 would say yes!"

I assume he was aiming for emphasis.

I suspect the UDD leaders may be offered a 'deal' to reveal all they know about the man and his involvement in funding the protests.

The results of the investigation into his involvement may seriously reduce the number of countries which will be prepared to issue a visa to such a man. However, he will always be welcomed by Robert Mugabe, another fine upstandng member of his community.

I have my doubts, that whatever may be revealed about the man, his supporters will continue to vote for the party which he is funding. Especially those who were involved in the disgraceful events in Bangkok and the provinces yesterday.

Thailand's never been a signortary to the Hague Convention, so therefore don't recognise it's laws.

offer one of the key leaders with hard evidence a portion of the confiscated 46 billion and a new identity in a country of their choice and they would get all the evidence they need.
